I know a bunch of you out there ride bikes like 9 year olds, heh. I need some advice. I want to buy a bike, but have no clue where to start. With the gas prices where they are and being relatively close (5 miles) to work (actually thats pretty far for a pack a day cigarette smoker, heh), and being almost in the worst shape of my life, I figured its time I get my ass and legs into gear. I currently possess Kevin Ross\' Giant/Specialized (cant remember which) somethingorother, but 1) its in CT, 2) its too small (its like a 16" frame I think, and Im like 6\'1"ish) and 3) he\'s gonna want it back sooner or later. What brands should I look into? Mind you that I am on a budget and am only lookin to spend $400 at the absolute max. I remember Mongoose, Diamond Back, and GT being decent bikes 10-15 years ago, but I see some of those in Wal Marts, Sports Authoritys and whatnot, so as you can see my knowledge is pretty faint in current years, and I am assuming those brands aren\'t what they used to be.
