Video on Archive.org
« on: February 25, 2005, 08:30:13 pm »
So I stumbled on a link for a video of UM playing live on The Bort. It is on Archive.org. They have a few shows from different bands. Andy they have 2 Disco Biscuit shows over an hour long each. Available in different formats to dl. The movies are done by Groove TV.

So 2 things came to mind. Is there any footage the guys would approve for upload to Archive.org in the section for open source movies?  The shows that used to be on DCN come to mind. There were like 5 shows one could watch once upon a time.

Second can a member of the Breakfast Archive team mention to the band that it may behoove them to contact Groove TV for possible coverage of one of The Breakfast\'s nxt shows out here.
The link below is to the Groove TV videos. There is a whole list of open source movies I am going to investigate for live music video performances.

Nice...Mario does a great job with the Groove TV shows.  So the band would be cool with stuff loaded onto the Archive as far as videos??

archive.org can host any video that users want to upload. if the band wanted us to we could do it right now. As for groove tv, i have talked to marco, the owner, and he said all i have to do is edit a show down to just under an hour and he will air it on his program which will air on santa cruz public access and go on archive.org under groovetv. he does all the work for groovetv himself and has never taken submissions, but he was willing to do it for the breakfast.

I think releasing video for promotion or sales is not even a thought at this point for The Breakfast.  It\'s obvious that they are focused on the new album and supporting it with some serous touring!  Besides that, video is really exposing and I don\'t see the band releasing anything unless it\'s absolutly perfect.  In other words, for all the time that Paul, Chris and I have put into recording and editing various shows on video, the band just doesn\'t seem interested in developing a plan for releasing or even recording video in the future.
