Beatles A to Z in the Press!

The New Haven Register has posted info about the show to one of their blogs and is looking to write a story for the paper. Would certainly help the cause if we mobilized and posted some comments in the blog, which can be viewed by clicking here.  :)

also...i thought it was just super that with all this stuff to promote, no effort was made by the breakfast organization to promo any of these three events at the vibes. the mclovins had at least 300 in the tent, but in the meantime, nobody that i talked too....breakfat band member included....knew that they are on the bill at sully\'s. "really?" was the most common response. we should just switch billling now. at the very least...the field should have promoted heavily. there was already a crowd gathered in one spot waiting to hear about the sully\'s show and all the day passers on sunday are exactly the crowd A-Z is looking for. it\'s becoming less than comical.

you\'re right. but where was this idea two weeks ago when something could have been done about it?? we\'re obviously all in this together on a very grassroots level. we all need to be thinking ahead and mobilizing as much as we can. let\'s start thinking: what can we do now? and then take action.

two weeks ago i was working a schedule that nobody here could possibly comprehend...all so i could be off enough days in a row to attend a music festival. a minimum of 100 plus hours a week for two weeks. it\'s time for someone in the business of the breakfast to get to work and stop waiting for others to do it. i repeat....they need to stop waiting for other people to take care of their business. i did what i do best all weekend.....i ran my mouth....about the breakfast....to anyone who would listen. anything more than that.......in the immortal words of stevie gencs.....sorry chip....i got work to do.

If we are talking promotion, the band needs a dedicated road manager or pay a manager to truly manage the band.  Making phone calls to venues, promoting, offering incentives for street teams, producing posters and flyers to pass out.  Several things...unfortunately there is not a full-time guy/girl.  I\'m sure there are financial/time/personal constraints that stand in the way of this coming to fruition, but this is the only way things are going to change.

There is no easy answer or solution to solving the promotion problem...and at this point it doesn\'t seem like The Breakfast is worried about it or care to address it, which is completely fine.  The current band dynamic doesn\'t really allow for heavy touring or taking a lot of chances anyway.  

All this is moot anyway.  Even if there was a person, who was willing to work for free and make it there full time job to promote and book gigs for the breakfast I don\'t think the band could or want to pull off what needs to be done to grow the name at this point.  Things might change, but that\'s how it is right now.

I think a good example of promotion and road management is the Indobox.  They have only been around since late \'05/early \'06 and have been know as Indobox for even less time than that.  They are really making a name for themselves right now and get decent to good draws at almost every show.  That being said, they are also younger than all the members of the breakfast and don\'t have families to support which allows them to travel more often and take more risks.

because it actually takes work...and it ain\'t all that fun (except for galenas....she loves that shit). end of story.

the macpodz are a good example also
