Cut me some Flac?
« on: October 08, 2008, 01:40:46 pm »
I am having such issues with this. A lot of the shows I want to download are in Flac format and I don\'t understand the Help section of traders den. I know I need a converter of sorts. Do I need to download Winamp as well or will my Itunes suffice? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What Operating system are you using Windows or mac or ...?

For windows you don\'t have to convert the flac files unless you want to do so. Using a player like foobar2000 (http://www.foobar2000.org) That has the necessary codec to decode FLAC files on the fly. Just like an mp3 or WAV just load it in to the player and hit play.

for Mac:
Here is a link that discuss a few different players

If you need an encoder / decoder you can get 1 here for all platforms:

Thank you guys so much for the help! The computer I am currently using is a PC! So I will do and let you know how it goes!!

I only have Itunes and once I uploaded something in FLAC it wouldn\'t let me play it, so I couldn\'t burn it.

Traders Little Helper is a very useful program for pc which will convert just about every format used by traders - except lossy formats like mp3 or oggs.

If you can track down a copy of Nero, that will burn flac files without having to go to the bother of converting them first.
