CT Laker fans ?
« on: October 28, 2003, 02:56:34 pm »
Just crusing through some posts and come to see there are some CT. Laker fans. Now how is that ? The rich tradition of the Celtics not enough 4 ya ? What about the rough and tumble play of the NY Knicks ? I understand not being a Nets fan even if they have been decent lately. I guess with these questions I have answered my own question.

So welcome to the circus. This season is going to be Hell. With Kobe finally saying what all Laker fans felt about last season the gauntlet has been thrown down. If Shaq can be a man and accept the truth, the Lakers will be able to get past this BS and win another Championship. If he continues to be a baby and fight w/ Kobe, here you go San Antonio/Sacramento have a trophy.

Karl and Gary are great additions especially if they can calm this down, but we will need our bench to play and the dynamic duo to play together even if they are unhappy w/ each other. This may be to big 4 Phil to handle and if Shaq wants to keep winning, he needs to play nice or Kobe is gone. As a lifelong fan this would break my heart. As great as Shaq can be, he does not bring it every game and will retire soon. Kobe IS the franchise and can be built around for years to come. We have not even seen the beginning of this mans\' brilliance. Believe it!! So welcome and GO LAKERS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

leith -

you heard right.. chrispitch and i are both laker fans.. no bandwagon here - i was born and raised one.. even back in middle school (\'91-\'93), when ALL the kids were wearing their Bulls jackets, i went to school every day wearing my obnoxious purple and gold Starter Laker parka...

i\'m psyched to see tonight\'s game, though i won\'t be able to watch it until tomorrow on tivo.. if they play their cards right, they could be one of the most dominant forces in recent history... but if they keep up with all this soap opera bullshit, it\'ll be just another "could have" year, and it\'ll be the last we see of Kobe.. here\'s hoping they get it together.

Yea Dave. You got me stoked to know there is Laker love out east. You r so right, they could be one of the most dominant teams and if they blow it Kobe will walk. Kobe and Duncan ? Kobe and Jermaine O\'Neal ? How about Kobe in Memphis ? Kobe in Clipper gear ?  I shudder to even think of it. All of these r possibilities that Shaq had better think about. Tonite we start yet another journey. Enjoy:)

Outstanding effort against the Mavericks. Malone came within one assist of a triple-double, Payton made numerous ill passes, Shaq was a factor, Devean George showed great range, and even Luke Walton drained a three. With Kobe and team having fun on the bench in the fourth quarter, the recent controversy seemed nothing more than attention-getting, preseason hoopla headlines. It was an exciting start. Glad to know there\'s another fan of the Purple and Gold on board.

It was all fcukin\' Jim Gray\'s fault. He yet again has shown he is a putz. Someone just needs to beat that little man down. All seems to be well in Lakerland. Postgame is all good, everyone is saying the right things and we are on our way. Payton and Malone oh man, our bench seems ready, this is gonna be fun.

Quote
Coach Phil Jackson fined Kobe Bryant an undisclosed amount for his highly critical comments of teammate Shaquille O\'Neal, and the team met for 20 minutes to discuss a rift between two superstars that escalated into a full-blown feud.

...

"We\'re cool. We talked this morning. He said what he said, I said what I said. We put it behind us," Bryant said after the Lakers\' victory. "Shaq and I are going to move on, be teammates and help this team to a fourth title."

So the Lakers lost . Well it wasn\'t going to be 82-0 but by the look of this team. Once they get comfortable w/ each other out on the court,Watch Out! Kobe keeps saying how much easier it is out there w/ Karl and Gary,so I expect him to start blowin\' up! Payton is the Man. He has reignited the famous "Laker Fast Break". Karl is just bowling people over,it is so fun to watch. Go LAKERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fuck the Lakers? Fuck Uconn where the women play better than the men. No disrespect to the women, I personally like watching women getting sweaty running and jumping around. As for being a fan since 5th grade, I went to a Lakers game in my mother\'s womb. Laker fan from the get go !
