Dave that would be nice. Real nice, but you and I both know they aren\'t gonna fork over the cash for a decent producer.

it would be cool to see a live album(no matter how many people are playing on it) that showcases some of the tunes that never made an album.

Gladys
Merge
Language
Dig?
etc.

this makes perfect sense. something the dead often did.

agree wholeheartedly. but Deuce was a long time ago. Real Radio and Moxie Epoxy sound like dogballs. hell, \'self-titled\' sounds better than Moxie Epoxy, and they pretty much did that themselves.

Bottom line - compilations suck!  It doesn\'t give a true picture of what the band does live, it just highlights the peaks.

i actually think a trio comp isn\'t a bad idea. they did some truly cool stuff that deserves to get shown off. and sometimes a show is meh, but there was one crazy good jam. no reason to make folks muck through it all just to get to the goodness.

that being said, i\'m not sure if that should be their next official release, however. especially since (theoretically) some n00b who purchases that will expect the trio sound when they finally make it out to a show. like trying to turn new folks on to the trio by giving them four-piece shows. just doesn\'t quite work, ya know?!

so to recap, we need a trio compilation for us, but the band needs to officially release a four piece offering next.

any ideas of which songs/jams from which shows we should start considering??

Yeah because Phish "A Live One" sucks... "Bona Fide" too (it was a compilation of one night)....

I was thinking along those lines Jason. Make it sort of a merch table/mail order thing. Nothing official.

yeah..Im gonna have to say the next album should be done in the studio...thats just my opinion. I have to partly agree with steve in that the last two albums lacked in production.. although I really like deuce, the production and song selection are perfect...

live album=def good idea. this band is one of those bands that just blows you away at shows, def try and showcase that
break it down, simplify
