New Gig Just Added For Cinco De Mayo Celebration
« Reply #1 on: May 01, 2007, 07:08:40 pm »
Hey Everyone - this Saturday is going to be a big day. Cinco De Mayo (the holiday none of us know what we celebrate it for) is here so lets party. I just booked another show during the day before Side Street Grille so only the hardcore in nature can survive this weekend!!!

*Sat May  5 - Captain\'s Cove (21+) 1 Bostwick Ave. Bridgeport, CT
              203.335.7104 / Showtime 4-7pm / Tim Palmieri Solo Acoustic
Opening Day plus Cinco De Mayo Celebration! Tons of
food and drink specials! / http://www.captainscoveseaport.com

Its a new venue and their opening day is Saturday. Like the description says, lots of drink specials and food specials. Its right near the water and I\'m playing upstairs in the lounge so it should be a good view. Under agers could attend and eat at the restaurant but can\'t come upstairs into the lounge. Sorry. Once that is done - its off to Side Street Grille to rock it some more with the Animal. After that I need someone to put the last nail in my coffin and throw it into East Haven\'s ocean.

end of transmission...........

If anybody is up for pre-gaming this, my beach house (in Fairfield) is holding the first annual Mustachio Bashio starting at noon.  PM for details if you want in.

And maybe this is getting greedy... but it might be good publicity for the show/band/new venue if the Mustachio Bashio featured a few tunes.

I would love to see a tim/animal acoustic show, but I avoid bars on cinco de mayo like the plague.

And tim are you ser? 1862, mexico defeats france in the battle of plueba. Who the hell doesn\'t know that?

I am wondering how this show went......
I am sure it was ser...
anyone keep a setlist or have some exciting stories from last evening????

I passed on going to this show to go to a cinco de mayo house party in Shelton, Ct.  The party was kind of a bust, but Billychags and I did have some good laughs, we got to see the Mayweather/DeLa Hoya fight, and I ran into an old friend I havent seen in years, so it wasn\'t a total bust all in all.......

You missed out on a hilarious night of great music and lots of fun. BFam ruled the room for the first part of the night. Second set there were a bunch of nOObs that filtered in and were digging it. No setlist that I know of, but Ken was running video. There was a first time played of Blind Melon\'s No Rain. Absolutely loving Adrian\'s plastic cowbell setup!! Adrian was pulling triple duty with an acoustic guitar, bass and his drums.

I was well aware of what I was missing, just wondering about highlights and any other kind of mentionable silliness......

Thanks for the happy recap regardless......

Just remembered about the Freebird they played. It started out standard. Two couples came in from the bar area and started dancing around (meat heads and prima donnas), joined by a girl sitting with friends in the corner. We said to each other laughing, "they have no idea what is about to happen". After that it started getting fast and furious. The two couples kind of gave up trying to dance after a while, but the one girl, trying to keep up, just started beating her feet in place like crazy and shaking her head wildly. Funny shit indeed!!

Oh...and then there were the photos! :D
