sorry there\'s no setlist. maybe someone kept one and will post it. i couldn\'t do live updates (or even keep a setlist) because i had to stand still with mics in my hand all night.

fuck the iron horse and every other IHEG venue. never again.

I saw you looking pretty pissed. What was the their problem?

Here\'s what I got just based on memory..... not 100% accurate. This will do till it\'s on the archive. Dave, thanks for your efforts as always.... completely ridiculous doesn\'t even cover it!!

I: Merry Melodies > Rufus > Beavis and Butthead > What the Funk, Duck Tales, Metropolis, Mighty Mouse, Score, ?, Pink Panther (Tim on sax), Surreal Radio, Tricky Ways, GI Joe, Buquebus > Transformers > Buquebus, Ren and Stimpy

E: Chimpmunks, Psygn

Show was one of the wackiest I\'ve ever seen! Todd sounded great for the first gig. He really nailed WTF, Metro, Score, and Tricky Ways in particular. "Bear with me," he said at one point, then something like "Their material has blown my mind in the past 48 hours, I can\'t even imagine what they\'ve done to you in 10 years!"

The cartoon stuff was very well done too. I like the quirky, wacky aspect of this band and cartoon theme songs is certainly a good way to display it! Oh and Queeb was out of control, not shocking right? Nice job guys.

Oh and if it says doors at 9:30 on the ticket, open the doors at 9:30!! That is all. :)

here\'s what i posted over on taperssection.com, along with the quotes leading up to my rant. ugh.

Quote from: Chomps

Quote from: Jesse Hurlburt

I was denied at the door last night.  Owner told me no bags, I tried to explain I tape at the Iron Horse all the time, but he wasn\'t having it.  Most likely because all the tables were cleared out, and when I left it looked like it was going to be a sell out.  I tried explaining I didn\'t want to leave my bag in the car and asked if I could bring it in but not tape, and they weren\'t having that either.  Oh well, catch em next time..

Jesse

What an asshole. I have had serveral hard times with the owner of  the Iron Horse and none have ended like yours Jesse. Did you not ask to speak to someone with the band?

keith

it wouldn\'t have mattered, keith. after last night, i will NEVER visit the iron horse or any IHEG venue again. been seeing shows there and getting treated like shit for 8 years, and last night was the last straw. they\'ll never see another dime from me.

i got there shortly after 9 to go in with the band and set up. they hadn\'t moved all the tables and chairs out yet, so i laid low and out of the way for a bit, and just helped the band load gear on stage. while this was happening, the owner (eric?) told the band that the venue no longer allows taping. the band pleaded with him, because they wanted it recorded as it was todd stoops\' first show, the band\'s 10th anniversary show, and their annual halloween show.

eric then ok\'d ONE taper (me), BUT, no clamping to anything, no taping to anything, nothing on the ground. they left the table in front of the soundboard and i was told i could set up there, on the table. my mic stand\'s legs were too wide to fit on top of the table, so i ran out and got a stand with a solid base from one of the other guys that was going to be taping. brought that in, put it on the table, and set my mics up, gear in bag.

i went and got my costume ready (~10 minutes) and came back up. eric comes over, looks at the stand, then goes and talks to the sound guy (who clearly hates his life and has always been an enormous prick to me) about something. eric comes back to me, asks if it\'s mine (umm, yeah, you just told me to set up there), and tells me to take it down because someone could bump into it and it can fall on someone\'s head and hurt them (happens ALL the time when taping, right guys?). i tried to plead my case and he was just being a complete asshole and wouldn\'t even let me get a word in edgewise. he told me my bag had to stay on the table and, get this, the mics had to stay in the bag.

i obviously wasn\'t having that, nor was i letting this show go unrecorded. so even though i knew i would have a miserable night, i sucked it up and stood there, next to the table, holding my vert bar up in my hands all night, arm in the air. that\'s what needed to be done for the band to have their 10th anniversary show recorded.

i had 5 people come up to me and offer to buy me a beer last night, and i said no to all of them because i didn\'t want this place to see a fucking dime because of me. enough is enough with this place. what a fucking joke.

oh yeah, and mic stands are really unsafe and can hurt people, but hey, feel free to bring in your glowsticks and chuck them at each other\'s faces all night.

awesome awesome show last night.. everyone looked great in their costumes! someone has got to get a picture of peaches in his costume up here hehehe..

loved the merry melodies opener into rufus. the beavis and butthead theme was great. i remember getting the movie soundtrack to it like 10+ years ago and listening to the theme song all the time because it was just that cool... i loved all of the cartoon songs. especially ren and stimpy!!!! :orngban:i totally thought that this was going to be super corny, but loved every second of it. the only thing i really could have done without was surreal radio.

Apparently there was a Mike Bonanno sighting tonight; his first show in many years.  I got a phone call from him, said he ran into Wolfman and this "fine ass bitch named Holly" and got my number from one of them.

For those who don\'t know Bonanno, he has lots of ser lost breakfast recordings that are not publicly available.
lol at "fine ass bitch". i was talking to him in line for the bathrooms and he mentioned that he was at butterfield so i asked if he knew al z and he said that he did. said he hadn\'t talked to you/lost your number and all this other crap but had the nicest things to say about you :) so i gave him your number.

dave--i really can\'t agree with you more on the glowsticks. that sucks about the taping policy. i was wondering why i hadn\'t seen you all night and then finally did at the very end of the show.

either way, i had a blast! welcome aboard stoops! please stick around!!!!!

OMG dude what a clusterfuck. Mics in the bag are OK? Who does this guy think he is? What a crazy story. Fuck that place is right. How does a place not allow taping all of a sudden? The band has to beg to have it taped.... man, that just boggles my mind. You said it, glowsticks = cool, taping = no can do. WOW, just WOW.

Like to hear Tim on Sax for Pink Panther.

Buquebus>Transformers>Buquebus is about the only songs I really car to hear from the show.

Buquebus>wet fart>Buquebus I would listen to.

I assume that the show was spectacular and it was cool to hear.

From the outside looking in, this set list couldn\'t appear any gayer but it is a theme and what not.

Glad you all had a good time.

I\'ll see when I see you.

The Iron Horse seems to have declined over the last few years especially with this no taping b.s.

Buquebus was amazing, as was Score!  Stoops\' style fits in perfectly with these guys during those long, silly jams.  Solos were awesome too!  I talked to him after the show, and he couldn\'t believe the band played two sets with only about 7 Breakfast songs.  ( I hope he\'s hooked & decides to make this a permanent residency!)

Dave, - I feel your pain.  I didn\'t know you were holding the mics in your hands all night - what a fucking let down for a venue who had the bottom AND top floor opened to fit their paying customers!

I also saw that video cameras weren\'t let in at all.  It would have been a great show to watch, since the band was definitely bringing heat in every song played last night.  Poor Ken had absolutely NO viewfinder or ladder to stand behind, and was actually caught drinking/dancing/talking to others throughout the night! ;)

Anyways, this show makes me wet for Brahlington - hope to see everyone there for more silliness.  Oh, and Tuna - PLEASE  bring my purse to VT - it\'s got stuff for my dia-beetis that is much needed! :) tia

that reminds me, just wanna say thanks to whoever turned in my wallet to the bar. i don\'t know if it was someone from .info.

i didn\'t even realize that it was missing until the end of the show when the bartender was shouting for me.

whoever was heady enough to return a coach wallet with $100+ in cash to the bar saved my ass... if anyone knows who was kind enough to do that, please let me know! would have been awful to lose the wallet, money, IDs, cards, etc...
