lol right? i think vivid dreams/nausea are also drug "side effects".... and also nictoine withdrawal effects. interestingly, the labeling on the drug says that 18-month success rates following chantix therapy are in the 35% range.

but somehow they make a killing off this stuff. i mean it\'s literally FLYING off the shelves at my pharmacy alone. imagine the marketing nationwide....

pfizer should really investigate this side effect QUICKLY.... a massive drug recall/discontinuation is extremely expensive, but associated patient deaths are FAR more costly & detrimental to their name....

I only really enjoy nausea when it\'s accompanied by uncontrollable diarrhea.

They\'re making a killing \'cause there\'s a ton of smokers out there and every doctor is pushing this stuff like it\'s a miracle cure.  My doctor, on the other hand, told me that I don\'t smoke enough for him to prescribe it... I think that meant that I should smoke more... not sure though... doesn\'t sound very hippocratic.

I bet pfizer isn\'t running commercials because they don\'t want to do the standard side effect speal:

"While rare, side effects may include psychotic episodes, hallucinations, hysterical aggression, nausea, uncontrollable diarrhea, and the condition known as hot dog fingers."

had a big discussion about CHANTIX @ the hospital i\'m interning at today. I guess there have been some isolated case reports of increased psychotic episodes/hallucinations/aggression - especially associated with alcohol consumption for patients who have been taking CHANTIX. pretty scary stuff!

Sadly, when they perform preliminary clinical trials, these side effects occur in such a small amount of people that they aren\'t "clinically significant", or not even reported. It\'s only once the drugs are marketed on a large scale that they see these side effects appear. be careful folks!

This is what they think made the guy from The New Bohemians filp out and assault his girlfriend only to go and try to kick in her neighbors door. The neighbor thinking someone was trying to break in shot high through the door hoping to scare him away. Unfortunately the guy was like 6\'5" and died instantly from a gun shot to the head.

This happened only like a few weeks ago. His girlfriend said point blank that he had never been aggressive towards her ever. She said that they both had been trying to quit smoking and had been taking chantix for a few weeks or something like that. He was out drinking pretty heavily, she was driving him home and described that he was making strange weird references to books he had been reading and really off the wall behavior.

Really sad

just lock yourself in the house for three days and smoke joint after joint of headies till you pass out. worked for me.

smoking seems fun and enjoyable when your doing it 20 times a day every single day. but your really just bullshitting yourselves and rationalizing a disgusting and deadly habit. as soon as you quit you will feel like an idiot for lying to yourself about it all those years.

 Todd & I haven\'t smoked anything since taking it in July... I\'m glad to have taken it, or else I\'d still be choking down a pack a day & spending $$ that could be used for beer! ;)

i need to quit too, but i don\'t think my lungs can handle that much either.  maybe a big batch of brownies/cookies/coffee cakes for the morning is in order.

join the club. i\'ve been trying (albiet not very hard) for the past year or so. wondering if anyone has heard or even tried that zero smoke stuff. its like a magnet near your ear that is supposed to rid you of your desire to smoke after only a few days.

Ok, I don\'t have the time to read this whole thread.  what have people used to quit smoking and what works best?

also, anything that has a side effect of me killing someone is not an option as well.  thanks in advance.

I think it\'s hilarious that I started this thread way back when.

Quit for prob six months or more.

and............

yup.......

smoking again.

This may sounf stupid but I\'ve never had a problem when I actually deceide to quit.  I\'ve always gone cold turkey, and never was too plagued with cravings (don\'t get me wrong there were cravings)  I\'ve quit for two years, 8 months, and 6 months.  One day I\'ll do it for good.  Cigarettes are like an old friend that never forgets you, and is always there when you need him.
