Leith, I\'ve been telling Laker-haters all season that they\'re better than everyone thinks and that they\'ll be a tough out in the postseason. Unfortunately, they are the worst defensive Laker team in 25 years. Butler and Odom have been highly inconsistent, Mihm is literally one of the worst players to ever wear the uniform, and Hamblen can\'t make up his mind on the rotation: one game Medvedenko and Walton play 25 minutes, the next game they play 5. And enough of Tierre Brown, already!

This has nothing to do with my allegiance. I will still read every box score and tape every highlight montage. I will still watch any televised games. And I will probably be the first to spout optimism when next season starts. But they\'re 6 games behind Denver in the loss column. The Lakers have lost 7 straight. Denver has won 13 of 14 and destroyed the Lakers without Camby and KMart. I mean, show me the legs for the Lakers to stand on. Bryant has had a great year, but there\'s no man in the middle to clog the lane, free up outside shooters, and for Phil\'s Sake, play fucking defense.

i agree with pitchie on this one..

leith, i\'m all for optimism, but i think we have a better chance of seeing Terri Schiavo in an aerobics class today than we do seeing the lakers in the playoffs.. :duck:

Sorry for the myopia guys but I was RAISED not to give up hope when it comes to the Lakers. I will admit to THINKING what Pitch wrote but .... Yeah the defense I thought Odom could play has never surfaced and Caron forgot all his potential back in thongland. I do think they can still make the playoffs as I have seen stranger shit happen. The team really is not that bad and with a new coach next year we will see that.

As for mama.........laka......a  that joke would have been funny if Superman wasn\'t DEAD.

Let\'s arrange a charity game between this Laker team and the last that didn\'t make the postseason, the 93-94 squad. Oh wait, Divac was on both teams. Well, that oughta tell us something.

In all seriousness, my money\'s on the Heat.

So we get a coach he retires, we get Vlade he does not play, Devean George plays 5 games after having a stellar yr last yr, Odom forgets he\'s any good, Caron flat out forgot HOW to play and Grant plays like the man on his arm DEAD. Well there\'s nxt yr huh?

yeah i think its gonna be a great series for that reason leith.  both of the teams arent star oriented with the one standout player.  and both clubs play such high level basketball its fun to watch, right now all im concerned with is it being well officiated by the refs.

Shaq with everybody else: 0

Points for Dwayne Wade in the fourth quarter of Game 7 at home: 0

Agreed!

I\'ll be playing b-ball at the court down the street instead of wasting my time watching the finals.
