How about Dylan\'s "Leopard-Skin Pill-Box Hat?" :)

i love both bands for different reasons..i\'m just saying that the breakfast could do justice and totally rip on songs that UM hasn\'t touched yet.

If a member of Milli Vanilli gets hurt in the woods, does someone else make a sound?

Amber M and dawg have a good point about Dancing In The Moonlight - great song.

Was also thinking about the guys doing some jefferson airplane (other than White Rabbit) or some early Amboy Dukes which they could jam the caca out of.

Jefferson Airplane....Something off the Red Octopus album, Boom.

Like the first track.  I can\'t rememeber the name of it, but it\'s a great track.

Red Octopus is actually a Jefferson Starship album, not quite Airplane  - better than Starship, but not as good as Jefferson Starship: The Next Generation. (Just my $0.02)

The track you mean is Fast Buck Freddie - great song, though none of the boys can exactly sing like Grace! ;)

My bad...Starship....but that song kicks ass.  And that is a good point.  None of them can sing it like Grace.  But how cool would it be??

i think you\'re misunderstanding what i\'m saying..i love both bands like i\'ve said before. all i meant is that the breakfast could be known as riding on the coat tails of UM if they cover the same tunes that UM does.  for instance, it is known that Umphrey\'s plays "Regulator" by Warren G. and "All Night Long" by Lionel Richie..if the breakfast were to cover those songs, it wouldn\'t be as cool because it has been done before..there are plenty of great songs that the breakfast could pull off that umphrey\'s shouldn\'t attempt. i wasn\'t trying to create a fuss.

No i fully understand your point. You may not understand mine. I feel UM is a musically solid and talented band. I just think their music is sterile in nature. Much too clean of a sound w/ transitions that sound forced @ times. Basically they have what every good progressive rock band has minus a SOUL.
I feel The Breakfast have a more organic sound. I hear much more feeling or soul in their music vs UM. The Breakfast can have that clean sound but not sound sterile due to the nature of how they play. NO fuss created.

glad we cleared that up. but i wasn\'t saying i like one band more than the other. this is the thread about cover songs. i\'m just stating my opinion that um and the breakfast should not cover the same songs.

Have the boys ever covered Axis: Bold as Love? I think they should try and tackle more jimi, why not start with one of the sickest jimi songs ever?
