she walked right up with her friends and escorts, stood directly in front of me and started talking laoudly to some other girl. i was mid-throw-down, having etched out a little space to flail without smacking people, and she plopped herself right in the middle of it and then got huffy when i kept dancing full tilt. i actually said, \'bitch, dance or get out of my way\' and she rolled her eyes, took half a step back towards me and threw a look at this short, wrestler-looking guy in a suit (he did have his tie loosened a smidgeon, though), who promptly came over and told me that i \'probably don\'t want to keep disturbing the lady.\' i asked if he was her boyfriend, and he said no, but he was there to look after her. it took me a sec to put it together. [why would he be protecting her, what is she, famous or... oh shit, i know that face... d\'oh!!!]

i did manage to splash a decent amount of beer on her, though.

NYC would be a bad idea for a solo Breakfast NYE show in my opinion. The band does not have the fan numbers to justify such an endeavor w/o the band suffering financially or looking bad w/ a poor turn out. This year has been HUGE for Breakfast fans. I am not so sure how big it has been for the band even with the release of a stellar studio album and what seems to be a settling of the business side of the organization. A NYE show closer to home w/o an opener would provide a cheaper alternative to NYC and more of a packed house due to the availability of under 21 venues nearer home such as Toad\'s.
The band has had 2 NYE shows here both w/ decent results though one was a Co-Bill. I think this is the best option for the band @ this time.
That being written, if The Breakfast play Toad\'s for NYE I will be there in support.

Poughkeepsie?  Wah we could hit up Mama Know\'s again.  What\'d you say?

No offense but I HIGHLY doubt the Breakfast will ever play Poughkeepsie again

what is the curfew for new haven? is it later on new years? i was there for the \'03-\'04 show which by the way was a great show, and it seems like they played for a long time. i\'m gonna have to agree with leith and freddie unless someone mentions a ser venue that has so far been overlooked.

I\'m pretty sure 03-04 was three or so but I\'m not positive, New Years @ Toad\'s would be another crazy party @ the Holiday Inn, every room is another world

Maybe a place like the full moon resort in upstate NY.

Get another band with a decent fanbase and book the weekend. They have cabins and rooms there. It is run by some really nice older heads. They did an AOD show there for NYE once and they had the RAQ-out there this summer.

could be cool or a place like it where we can stay on site and have the show.

Great Idea but this would most likely require the band to assure the resort that the rooms would sell etc. Going back to the size of the fanbase and the fact that the band needs to start showing they can pull an audience to a solo Breakfast bash, this idea is not realistic as of now but I would love to see it happen in a few years!
