Yep. No words to describe it. Not possible. I\'ve never felt the way I felt throughout and after the show. I tried to describe it to Mike but I don\'t think I got it right, I said, "it feels like the inside of my body is really warm and numb." There was a happiness I cannot describe. My god it was sooooooo emotional in so many ways, happy, sad, excitied, others that I can\'t even describe.
I\'m never gonna get tired of saying, "that was the best time I ever had."
Now for the actual music...whoa.
Wild Pack has been rippin\' it lately and to see it open things up was a good sign for things to come.
Beautiful Buquebus, absolutley amazing, and also might I add, beautiful. A tear or two may have been shed.
Mayfly was just perfect.
Reba?!?! I think with the exception of Phish\'s 2/20/93 version, that was the best I have EVER heard. It was flawless in everyway, but still managed to have that Breakfast personality and style to it, and not finishing it was a great idea. I can\'t wait to hear it.
Could Dave and Mike possibly have been any happier to hear No Regret??!? I was happy too...
Intension, which by the way Paul, was played, with it\'s Mommy What\'s a Funkadelic/Warped jam was a fuckin\' blast, got a little sniffy for that one...especially when I could hear the Hard Luck forming.
Jesus, could it have been any better? That song just does something to me that I can\'t describe. Goodbye to a good guy...to borrow a line from Dave, you don\'t have a soul if that one didn\'t get ya a little. It got me...a lot.
The Late and the Great in the middle of HL was a masterpiece, don\'t know who that dude was who told Peaches and me that he was willing to bet Overexposure would not follow TLATG, well now I have to buy him a beer at the Electric Company...durung Overexposure.
And of course, though as with some of these others that I figured would be saved for New Year\'s, we have Love Lake. So good. Not to sound lame, but I don\'t care, you really could feel all the love in the room for the the whole show and it was no different for this one. I love this song, I really do, and not being able to hear Ronny playing along with all these other songs is gonna kill me for a while.
It was a no-brainer that by Jordan being there that he would be playing with them. I think that if not due to the circumstances that surrounded this show, he probably would not have played a Breakfast song with them, it would have just been wrong though if he didn\'t.
That Breakfast song being Mooboo\'s, well, I don\'t think anyone could have guessed that one. And with Matt and him playing together?!?!? Yeah, I cried a little, so what. Could a Breakfast fan have asked for anything more? No. Ok, yeah. Sweet jamming for "cute uptempo instrumental," doods! I was looking over his shoulder as he was was "typing" it and was like, "what." then he promptly sent it in to .info.
Ok. Seriously. Funky Bill\'s was a little bit more of what we could have asked for with the dueling keyboard soloing in it. I don\'t think anyone liked that very much, though
.
I\'m gonna have to agree with Dave and anyone else with a clue, that this was in fact the best encore and possibly the best jamming that this band has ever played, am I wrong? No. Jordan singing See the Light?!? Holy Shit. Baby Hold on to Me? I won\'t forget you coming up and singing it with me Paul, it showed how much of a dork we both were to sing the exact same verse. Oh boy. I don\'t know what you would call that Kasmir jam thing. Quadrophenia wasn\'t bad either. Though Jen thinks I\'m full of shit, I still believe I heard a snippet from Divided Sky in there too. Guess I\'ll have to hear it again to be sure.
Not all that big of a fan of Karn Evil 9, but all things considered, it was fine with me. Don\'t really know how I know the music to that song, having said, "ahhhhhh," and changed it every time it came on the car radio since I was 16.
Seriously the best show I\'v ever been to. There was no better way and place to say goodbye to Ronny. The video was a tough one to get through. Seeing the look on Lisa\'s face as she was watching filled my eyes up a little.
On to the Electric Company. I may collapse if the EC is better than this...
God, I\'m gonna miss him. I think I saw his eyes looking a little glassy at times. He\'s a human after all, dammit.
