but overall i agree, the band as a unit is much better. i know everyone talks about ron and jordan improving a lot, but i think adrian wasnt as good either. he pulled off crazy shit but on a lot of jams from 02, 01, anything before, i feel like he had a lot of moments where he caught up after a crazy build and release. Tim was in a league of his own, now they all have matching uniforms-- just look at RR. (how great would it be if they sported those reds live!!)

i agree w/ what most people are saying: that each member in the band has improved. and i think that applies to tim as well b/c as the other members really started to pick up their game, there was less pressure on him to "wow" people. he can now pay more attention to crafting solos as opposed to just ripping and roaring the entire show. although tim definitely can rip, it\'s never good for a guitarist to hog the spotlight.

what most amazes me, though, is that it\'s already been a year since they changed their name. it seems like yesterday!!

I agree on all counts..
The band is a unit now more than ever and yes Ronny has develped into a mean ass bass man.

There is a cohesivness to their playing now that was not there in earlier days. I think it\'s the natural evolution of the "player" to mature and grow and learn from eachother.

I also agree w/ Gordo. Adrian has improved alot. I had the same feeling about early PB drum solos. They didn\'t tell the story they way they do now.

kudos to PB for continuimg to grow.

The name change definitely helped open doors. Foolish to think otherwise. Too many people wouldn\'t even look at them before based on a name. I think the increase in numbers is a direct result of that. Yes.. all the press certainly help as does the grass roots effort but, I think for the "blank" audience.. the group of people that has never seen or heard of the band.. the name does not scare them away.

The band spent a LOT of time in the studio this year.....and also recording in ways they never have before....more creatively.  Recording is great for a band.

Deuce is basically the band live with vocals overdubbed....we didn\'t have time to do much else.  On this album we tried to do more song oriented production, which makes the band listen to itself a lot more.

Part of what you are seeing comes from that process...where the band can hear how their playing interacts and adjust...usually simplify, a bit.  That little extra space around a the notes makes everything sound better.

If this band ever gets as comfortable with their singing as they are with their playing.....look out.

I think I like Deuce for the fact that it\'s basically them live but I can not wait to hear what RR sounds like with the amount of time put into it.

I also think you\'re totally correct abt the vocals. If they do get comfortable singing.  :jawdrop:  :awwyeah:

Everyone is still the same, read the New Haven Register today, or am I the only one to read it.

The Breakfast has come a long way since their formation. They have overcome obstacles and barriers that would have crippled many other bands. They are right where they need to be at this time. This is the year of a new Jam King. Forget, Umphreys (sick, though), Bisco, Particle or any other jammers. Some of the bands out there had there chance and will not get another one. The Breakfast, however, had taken the right steps and put themself in an excellent position for 2005.

The one thing Phish did that never came back to haunt them was this: They never stuck to one genre of music. Listen to all the other bands around, they all have a particular genre of music they focus in on. The Biscuits, although sick, are stumped because their fans get way to fucked up. They couldn\'t come out and rip up an old fashion rock song. This is where the Breakfast seperate themselves. They have not committed themselves to anyone style of music but attempt to cover them all or soon will. This is important to creation of fan base. Never to spacey(my love), never to bluesy, not to jazzy but just perfect. The Breakfast has one root that others don\'t. They can play rock\'n\'roll, and as we know, rock\'n\'roll will never die!

The Players:

Tim P- Might be, if not already is, the sickest guitarist around. Unbelievable technical guitarist who continues to amaze me with his axe. We all know what this gut is capable of, he will not let us down.

Ron- This kat has come a long way, seeing him up there now ripping bass lines apart and holding the groove together is such a far cry from where he had been. It\'s kinda like Gordon and Trey, Gordon only got better because he had to keep up with Trey. If your bass player can keep up with his Guitar player, you are going to improve.

Animal- This guy beats drums like I have never seen. What other band out there has a drummer like this one? Best regional if not national drummer in the country! I use to hate drum solo\'s until I heard this dude rip it apart. The way he and Ron, work the grooves and beats are phenominal!

Jordan- Wow! I think this guy is the glue that holds this band together. I always looked at Page, and thought he didn\'t fit, but if you remove him from the equation, it just doesn\'t work. Keyboards just haven\'t been the same since Jordan starting playing them, perfect harmony everytime. Love the synth.

Take a look at other bands and see where they are, and measure success by consistency. It took Phish almost 10 years to become where they are. Bands like moe. Bisco and SCI blew up practically overnight but with nowhere to go. Take your time and do it right the first time and you will have no problems. These kats are going to amaze us all. This is their year. Keep that mindset and positive energy and they will not let us down.

As we say in Hawaii:
E ho \'omanawanui kana

See Ya @ Toad\'s for the Best Breakfast We Ever Ate!
Love many, trust few and don\'t be late.
