okay he can score like mike, but NOBODY can run crew like mike

Kobe also doesn\'t seem to have half the class of Jordan.  Why do you think the guy is still selling more shoes and gear than any other name in the game?

Aside from a great b-ball game, Kobe seems like quite the douchbag.

You like everyone else always want to forget that Jordan was basically driven out of the NBA in his 1st retirement due to his gambling.
Oh and the affair he had is quite forgotten also.
Kobe a douchebag? No more than Jordan was.
Worrying is like praying for something you don't want.

This has nothing to do with private affairs, my statement is regards to the way he interacts (like a pompous bitch) with the public.  Did Jordan act like a cocky jerk 90% of the time?  You can see the a-hole in his eyes, don\'t pretend like it\'s not there.

Leith = Kobe\'s cocksniffer extraordinaire ;) !!

That is plain bullshit. Kobe interacts with the public as much as Jordan did and that is not much. You have a fuzzy memory or you are too young to remember if you think Jordan was all lovey dovey w/ the media or the public. He just had a better publicity agent than Kobe. Jordan was one of the most arrogent(sp?) athletes ever. You know most of the players that played w/ him hated him. Wonder why?
Get your facts straight kid. You may play a mean game of basketball but your knowledge of NBa history and it\'s players is severly lacking!!

Jordan took the NBA finals 3 years in a row the first time around with not much more talent than Kobe has on the Lakers now i dont think.  There is a huge difference in being a single successful player who scores 81 points all by himself running a team little over .500, and a player who could effortlessly, probably score as many points as he wants, but makes a mediocre group of players fucking Champions.
p.s.  the lakers are worse than the clippers, i find that somehow amusing

on my personal douchbag scale kobe rates a good bit higher than jordan. i want to talk about all the rest that jordan did but kobe\'s done a lot of that also. he did have shaq but pippen was considered in the top ten at least during the bulls run. IMO jordan has tons more class but kobe is absolutely amazing!

I am not saying Kobe is better than Jordan. He\'s not. Yet.
However you forget that Jordan also had one of the best complements to his game in a guy often overlooked. uh Scottie Pippen. Those Chicago teams had plenty of talent.   Such short memories. Yeah Jordan was great but still an asshole.
oh and as far as being worse than the Clips. Post @ the end of the year and see if that still applies. I doubt it will.

Unlike most people, I go out and play rather than pretend that my watching/overanalysis translates into athleticism.

I give you credit on calling me out on my NBA knowledge, given that I never watched a b-ball game till 2 years ago (and haven\'t yet seen one this year), though I do remember a more professional Jordan (in comparison to Kobe).

Can\'t wait to play with you again next time you\'re in town, though we need to find a court with an electrical outlet so we can blast Breakfast courtside.

That IS why they got him AND hired Scottie as a special advisor.
Thing is Odom sux! Mark my words if he ever plays to his potential. The rest of the league is fucked.

I\'m not sure what the homeboys at my court will make of your crazy dancing, though I\'d be interested to see the reaction.

Probably something along the lines of : :wtf2: and  :banghead:

To quote Happy Gilmore, "Gold Jacket, Green Jacket, who gives a shit?" Bottom line: MJ=The greatest ever. Kobe=most talented player in the NBA over the last five-six years. Won 3 rings with the "help" of Shaquille O\'Neal and a plethora of great role players. Both had Dr. Phil, so that\'s a wash. Both had/have the triangle O. Don\'t act like Mike had the greatest collection of players around him either. Ho Grant was a solid PF, but far from the best. The rest (Besides Scottie) were decent ballplayers who played selflessly as a club is supposed to under a great(possibly greatest ever) coach. Scottie was a sick compliment to MJ, and is a sure HOFer but not a single one of you would be so dumb as to take Scottie over Shaq in their prime. Double Bottom Line: Now that Kobe\'s got Phil again, and now that he has the rest of the NBA by the nuts, let\'s see him win 2 or 3 more rings without the help of Shaq, Timmy Duncan or KG AND leave his career scoring avg. at or near 30.0 ppg. by the time he\'s done and maybe he\'s up there. Just remember MJ drained 25 game winning shots in his career, 8 were buzzer beaters, 1 was for the NBA championship, one was for the sheer devastation of the Cav\'s entire city and organization, and oh yeah, the one I DIDN\'T count was for an NCAA title.  Kobe, despite his rings and scoring already, has a LONG way to go before he can step to that cred. Glad i could clear all that up.

I hate to sound like a geezer, but basketball has been on a downhill slide since its 80\'s pinnacle.  On the occasion that I cruise past ESPN classic and catch Lakers/Celtics finals games, I\'m always amazed at how much the game has changed.  And it goes well beyond knee high socks and shorty shorts.  I don\'t deny loving what Jordan could do on the court.  But he has changed the game forever, from a sport that relied on passing the ball to find the open man, to one that relies on its select "super stars" and their ability to amaze by abusing their defender.

Geezer!
