He was playing and singing down south before the whole Idol thing.

He is a good deal older than the usual Idol contestants.

There is a guy on taperssection.com who is friends with him and has been taping him for a long time. The only time I have ever heard him sing was right around Christmas he was down at the Today Show I think it was and he did some pretty cool bluesy Christmas type song (I think it was anyway)

I thought it was well done. He definitely isn\'t as PoP-ie as the other Idol folks at leaset from what I have seen

Could be cool to have him sing lead on a few tunes with the breakfast.

Jordin is awesome!!! I can\'t believe she\'s only 17 yrs. old.
Hailey = adorable, but NO voice.
As for the guys, I can\'t believe Sanjaya hasn\'t been offed yet, and Phil (the bald guy) has a chance to make it to finals.

Can\'t say I want to admit this. But I have listened to his new album (the one made for winning idol), it can honestly say it\'s not half bad.

Taylor is a cool guy.  He just flew my sis and her friend (his ex) out to see his shows in DC.  They got to hang with him for a few days and get a taste of the "star treatment".  He is definitely not your typical AI.  Since winning the show, he has sat in with several jambands including twice with Panic (once in LA right after he won, and pretty recently in Cleveland).  It is so freakin\' funny to hear Dave Schools yelling "soul patrol" when he comes on stage.  He has yet to sing with WP, but just sits in on harmonica... which he can KILL.

If you are interested, you can hear him with Panic here:
