Has anyone else heard, as reported in the New York Post, that Trey Anastasio is appartenly wandering the streets of NYC drunk?

September 1, 2005 -- PHISH singer Trey Anastasio apparently drinks like a fish. The frontman for the now-defunct hippie jam band was staggering past Jeffrey Chodorow\'s Meatpacking District eatery Ono when he was recognized by Chodorow\'s 19-year-old son, Max, a major Phish fan who had just finished dinner there. When Max slowed down his Audi A4 to get a closer look the other night, a slurry Anastasio asked him for a ride. Max happily let the tipsy tenor and his pals squeeze into his car and dropped them off at a townhouse on West 18th Street.

I\'ve gotten drunk and wandered the streets of NYC many times. Sounds pretty normal to me.

We are talking about Trey Anastasio the lead singer of Phish who has been wasted for the last few years. Apparently on OXY\'s, also, it is true that he has a plac in NYC now, which is probably because he is working on new music. I also heard a rumor that his apartment is nextdoor to Keith Richards.

You know how many "stars" are walking in NYC daily? or how many live there?

I repeat that Trey is wasted almost regularly now. Listen to his new band.

also, imagine this. a place like your apartment is most likely what Trey is living in, maybe a little bit bigger. But because it is in NYC it is 3 times what you pay. Now, imagine sitting in your apartment when there is a whole world of things going on out your window. He gets tired of writing songs, has a few drinks and decides to take a walk. On his walk he stops and gets booze at any place he can. He walks for miles because of the oxy he is on and he is feeling good. and thus he ends up in the situation he is in.

Read the article. He was out with his buddies, and caught a ride with a fan. If Trey is constantly wasted, he sure does get a lot accomplished in that state, and always had. Sorry to sound bitter, but I\'m sick of the Trey rumor mill.

My bet if he was eating where they say he was is thats Daddys car given to a 19yr old.

Anyway. How cool would it be for a fan to give him a ride. Kid must have been so psyched.

The Meatpacking District is an easy walk from 18th St so it is very plausible that Trey and his friends went walking down there to drink. And he must have been drinking if he asked some douchebag teenager driving his dad\'s audi for a ride instead of hailing a taxi.

As far as the Post goes Public Enemy had it right
