New Songs (some new thoughts )
« on: April 05, 2004, 10:16:23 pm »
Inner Glimpse-This song is one of the best that this band has written IMO. It has a chorus with lyrics which one can sing along to and the title of the song really describes the lyrics. The melody is totally danceable and the jam possibilities have just jumped out in each performance. Spring Madness Abounds!!!!!!!!!!!!

Doughboy- Wow this song begs for radioplay. It has a driving beat and has a catchline u can\'t beat w/ a stick. " I hope each day is a $$ day"
Again lyrics u can sing along with. Segue possibilities abound (hear 2/27/04 Doughboy>Puppetry.)

Vera St- Straight out one of the most mature songs in this bands\' catalog. Love song and all it is already a favorite.

D5- Not real familiar with it yet but the version I do have shows potential.

couldn\'t agree more about Inner Glimpse... definitely will go down as one of the great ones... I would pretty much put it up there with the best of them...

Doughboy rocks the hizzy.

Vera St. I really don\'t care for that much... too mellow for me.  I would group it w/ Question Mark....

I also agree about D5... not in the cream of the crop of new tunes, but has potential.

And let\'s not forget No Regret.  I heard it at almost every show I went to and really like it.  Not many people on this board have heard a good version of it... I think the only time it\'s been played in the Northeast was that last Living Room show with all the complaints about the sound quality... I have a feeling it will be popular as well...

My favorite new one is gravity. its about a year old, but i consider everything after that 13 month gap to be the new ones. I have been listening to the 8/7/03 show a lot lately. That was one of my favorites gravitys.

Since I can\'t seem to figure out how to download anything yet I haven\'t yet heard Vera St. but Question Mark is one of my favorites.
And I dug (no not Dig) but D5 from the Bill\'s bar show!

My favorite song of The Breakfast IS Question Mark and the reason for this is the same reason Vera St. is now a close second. I am a Deadhead first and foremost. The above 2 songs reflect qualities in a song I usually find only from a Hunter/ Garcia collaboration. These being absolutely exquisite lyrics with music so pretty you could use it as a pillow. I love the energy The Breakfast EXUDE @ every show but these songs put the spotlight on the strong songwriting possible from such young guys. Not to say the faster material is not of genius also!!

As for D5 from Bill\'s bar hell yeah it rocks.
Giavanna I think there is a link somewhere in this forum for Vera St. U can just click and play it\'s from NYE and it\'s great. Just search for Vera St. it\'ll come up.

Nope sorry link no longer works. Looks like I gotta send one with your discs nxt week :)

Ha! I was just looking and all I came across was the Hilarious thread about people getting lost on the way to Le Bar Bat... Which was my first show, so maybe I have heard Vera St and just don\'t remember... I\'ll appreciate the disc though! :D

Vera is in the setlist but don\'t feel bad I didn\'t remember it either.
