Forgive the ignorance...but what is the point of the "side fire box"?
I am probably as ignorant on the subject as you, but my guess would be to add succulent smokey flavor.....
I understand that, but I don\'t see how it even works. It seems to be a seperate chamber, so unless the meat was at one point in the side-car, then moved to the main grill...
...as for bbq champion...I will admit that I will never win a cooking combition based off my inability to effectively improvise, prenchant for expensive and invovled recipes, however, I would love to try my hand some day to see how I fair.
...I need to work on vering the "hotness" or "spiciness" of my offerings on a consistant bases, and writing those pairings down.
I pretty much look in my spice cabneint and think "What do I want this to taste like today?"
