I thought the same thing just the other day. It wouldn\'t change my vote but I think he certainly deserves to be in the discussion.

Not been around in a while, thoguh have been enjoying the Breakfast and Kung Fu shows put up on the archive and still live in hope of a European tour by Tim and the boys.

Anyway, couldn\'t not post to this thread and give a token representation from ol\' Blighty.

Greatest Band = Beatles. No competition. No discussion nor justification needed.
Greatest Live Band = Grateful Dead (and I never even saw them)
Greatest Band of the 80s AND 90s = Phish
Best Live Band I\'ve Ever Seen (and who produce damn good albums too) = Gandalf Murphy & the Slambovian Circus of Dreams (and they are also running a close second in my next category, which is why I\'ve seen them 17 times in 2.5 years, which for a band based in NY is probably slightly excessive, even if they do come here twice a year.)
Favourite Band of All Time = Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship (And no, I don\'t include We Built This City era Starship, but I do include JS2000 and beyond, though I still prefer the Diana era to the current Cathy period.)

The Breakfast still features in my top 5 in all categories, alongside, depending on the category, bands like The Doors, Stackridge, Love, Strawbs, Pretty Things, Fairport Convention, Genesis and Umphreys, (Have I ever not been eclectic in my tastes?) though truth be told, the Circus aside, I tend to listen to more acoustic stuff these days like Andy McKee, Pierre Bensusan, Laurence Juber and the like.

Would love to do that, but with the current economic climate (have dodged redundancy twice in the last year), couldn\'t justify the air fare. :)

One day.... :wistful:
