The dance floor looks pretty quiet at both places.

That was what I was hoping, especially given Fri./Sat. night appearances.

Did the Oxnard crew hit both shows?

looks good...

except for Message in a Bottle, I always thought that was the lamest thing PB/Bfast ever did

Message in a bottle is an excellent song from a lyrical standpoint and I would argue that lyrically it will indeed stand up over time - perhaps without the music.

Yo!!! Just got back to ATL.  Another awesome show in SD on Sat. night.  Rufus, FFT, Taboo, were sick, the See the Light was the best I\'ve ever heard, even the Beef Barley had some sick soloing.  (BB is now basically a vehicle for jam exploration.)  The Chase, Doughboy, Psygn, all sick.  I bought a Cookie at the Store in LA, along with the Grape Ape, and collectively these now legal substances greatly enhanced my show experience!  Definitely a safer alternative to alcohol, and even better in conjunction w/ a few Sierra Nevadas.  Anyway my adventure is over, and now I am back to work.

They have definitely made progress in the songwriting dept.  Psygn is still stuck in my head - that may be one of their masterpieces.  My friend, seeing this band for the first time, said that Tim is a "great singer" which is a compliment he might not have gotten a few years ago.  The peeps that I brought to Winston\'s were also very impressed.  You got a great venue there in San Diego - an unbelievable lineup of bands are scheduled to come through that place.  Wish we had a venue like that in ATL.  Wish we had fans like that in ATL, then maybe the Breakfast would come down here.  Both LA and SD were definitely NOT duze - fans were way into it raging on the dance floor.  Soon we won\'t ever have to discuss the possibilities of the duze again - just don\'t play Cleveland.  I used to live in Ohio and I could have told you not to play Cleveland.

oh and Message in a Bottle is lame, but if the band wants to do it because it\'s fun, they are entitled to a little bit of self-indulgent bullshit.  And there are always a few idiots in any crowd who just sit there waiting, hoping, praying for a cover song.  People like that are complete musical dunces, but they have to play something to appease those people.

Cali is great for alternative medicinal products huh?

Yeah Winston\'s has been a pretty nice place to see great bands in a small place and the OB crowd knows it\'s music pretty well and shows the appreciation.
