How did you krunky cats first hear about Breakfast?

I\'m curious how you all found out about Psychedelic Breakfast? Because it dawns on me that if not for my first time hearing them, I might very well still not know about them to this day. Scary thought!!! ;)

So here\'s how I first heard PB:

There was a little festival at my college, Hobart & William Smith in Geneva NY, in the fall of 2002. A bunch of hippie bands were playing but not many kids were bothering to come out and check out the free show on a beautiful day on the big quadrangle lawn.

I happened to have a bunch of papers to write, so I was in my room which was in a down right on the lawn, with my window open in case anyone good went on stage maybe I\'d go outside and check them out for a bit.

I wasn\'t really paying attention to the bands, like who it was that was playing, but then I heard what I later found out was the song "Gladys Pimp & Kangaroos With Me". As soon as I heard this funky shit I packed a bowl, lit it, and ran outside while still smoking the shit out onto the lawn.

I was instantly hooked, fuck the papers, "Who are these guys??" Nobody seemed to know so I asked one of the dudes running the gig. "Psychedelic Breakfast"

cool. I thought to myself I\'d def catch these guys again if they came around.

A couple months later, I reckon, they happened to come back to Geneva to this bar Jellybean\'s. I made a couple friends come with me and we ate some adult candies and had a great time. This time we were actually able to pay good attention to the band and realize they were really something else.

Every single show since then (up to 37 now??) has only reinforced my addiction to Psychedelic Breakfast. As far as I\'m concerned the name may have changed but these guys are more psychedelic than ever :D

dave peck kept harrasing me to go see magic. By the time I did they were moki jam. I took some time off from shows for a few months to save money, and by then I had missed 3 butterfield shows. After my first pb show I just hung my head in shame for having wasted the previous several months. been going ever since.

I heard the band mentioned a couple of times by people whose musical opinion I respected on livephish.org. I caught my first show at No Moore Bar in Manhattan and was blown away. Download it here. The whole show had me moving. Two non-band related highlights are, smoking up on a sidestreet while dodging rats during setbreak, and the fellow who collapsed in the audience and was taken out. (I had the pleasure of meeting this unfortunate individual at the last Knitting Factory show and was relieved to hear that everything turned out okay.)

Having been friends with Jordan for YEARS before he joined forces with the other three, seeing Magic a couple times and being best friends with Josh\'s girlfriend, you could say I\'ve been there since the start!!! And NEVER regreted it. The only thing I regret is not keeping track of Magic transforming into Mokijam.

The year was 1999:  Heard a lot of screaming coming from Butterfield dorm (UMass-Amherst) and wandered into the show.  Wondered why these rock stars were playing to a small (but very rowdy) group of University students.  The show was so great and it was like nothing I had ever heard before.  Seth Wolfman and I looked at each other in disbelief as our jaws dropped to the floor.

11/19/99...Good times Al!  Here\'s my version, as excerpted from my review of the show:

"The show was 11/19/99 at Butterfield Dorm at UMass. All week I had seen signs around campus for Psychedelic Breakfast in Butterfield. Thing is, I had no idea it was a band. I thought they were going to decorate Butterfield with psychedelia and serve breakfast at 10PM and the whole idea was that you would show up tripping and eat breakfast in the middle of the night and be totally confused. I really thought this. I also thought it was the dumbest idea I ever heard, and had no intention of going...

So that night I\'m walking past Butterfield and I heard music inside, and I thought I\'d go in to check it out. That decision altered the course of my life in drastic ways..."

To read the full review, download the latest Breakfast Digest from the link on the side of your screen and go to page 3 :)

I just now realized that the date of that show is 111999.  There\'s something freaky about that...

I heard about them a few times in or around 2000-2001.

Pretty sure I saw them back then too at a echo lake fest maybe a few other places but never reallly took notice.

The first time I realized they were sick was Webster Freakout 03 when my ex girlfriend dragged me there.

I\'ve been really into them since then.

Its been realy fun watching them get better and better pretty much every show over the last 2.5  years.

I am stoked at where they are at now. Feel like they are making a great name for themselves.

The energy at shows and the caliber of song writing these days is phenominal.

Really lookin forward to this summmer!!!!!!

Igziabeher had been pimping them around the moe.ron community and started giving me discs to listen to...thought they were ok on disc, but needed to hear them live.  I first saw them 4/30/05 and knew about 1/2 the songs they played and even told someone dancing next to me about one of the songs when he asked me.
I have continued to try and see them when I can, although being from the midwest makes that not so easy.  After meeting a bunch of the freaks (you all know who you are) that are friends with Igz, I really get the sense of community that ya\'ll have for each other and the passion you have for the band and the energy for them to suceed - it\'s contagious and reminds me of the group that I travel to see for moe. shows.  And, how can I deny a favortie band of one of my favorite people...I\'m hooked!
I\'ve since been on Timmy Tour, seen the Good Time Boys, and been to Breakfast shows in 5 different states...with more to come in the future!
:)
Don\'t shoot the messenger it\'s not his fault...
It\'s just a drag when you\'re the last one to know.

A friend of mine IMed me a few days before my first show (4.29.05, the day before sconnie\'s first). "are you going to the breakfast on thursday?" I was like, you know I never get up early enough for breakfast, what are you talking about? My buddy said it was "some jamband" from the East Coast playing at our favorite local venue. I said I was in, but I really had no idea what I was in for. The first notes of the show, I fell instantly in love. Tim sat down with my friend and me for a good hour after the show talking about everything under the sun, and I made sure that every single one of my friends would hear about them from that day on.

I\'m now saving up everything I can spare so I can fly East for the Freakout this fall and experience The Breakfast with the Wild Pack.

Saw them play alternating sets with Seth Yacavone on the melding of the minds tour March 2003.  The Show was at Jake\'s Roadhouse in Decatur Ga. and there were exactly 3 people in attendance.  But PB raged so hard it was insane.  So now I\'ve seen every doozie they played in the state of Georgia ever since - one of these days they\'re gonna blow up in the south.
