I was a little let down by the size of the crowd but had a great time with those that were there. It was great to meet kyndkate and RickyRoux. I woke up Friday with the Mayfly Disarray bass line going through my head. I was excited to hear it busted out from the get go. Psygn > Space City Affair > Angel > See The Light. sandwich was nice and the flawless jamming was great. I was happy with the choice of covers and I am totally down with them keeping "Welcome to this World" in regular rotation, it fits Ron\'s style and it seemed perfect to play.
The second set was all about "We\'re An American Band > Intension > Rufus > HDX > Synchronicity II > Taboo Or Not Taboot", great way to start the set with "We\'re An American Band > Intension", Intension is great in the #2 spot for any second set. I did not think I was going to hear Gladys but did and are happy with what I got. The second set highlight was all about the Lithium, me having been a huge "grunge-era" fan, relished in the moment and realized that they nailed this tune too.
Overall a good show, could have been better but no complaints for what I experienced.
Love many, trust few and don\'t be late.

I\'m just now getting to listening to the whole show again, and ho-lee-shit. Ronnie absolutely OWNED the pants off Welcome to this World and Honey Butter. I mean, I remember having a great time and thinking both of those were pretty much flawless, but listening to it again sober makes me wish I hadn\'t gotten so drunk at BAR before the show...

I used to do the same thing and not remember much of the shows. Now I save it for late night! But...thank the powers that be that we have recordings to re-live and piece together our memories!!

I didn\'t take as many pics this weekend as I would have liked, and the ones I took during the shows came out kinda shitty. Oh well. These were some of the better ones

whatever ... when there\'s 6 people on the underage side there\'s more dancing room for the rest of us.  makes ya feel like you\'re back in high school.

seriously though,  there should be some sort of marketing strategy implemented for recruiting the young set at places like toads.  and for future security as well.  u know?

agreed but the question is how do you reach these kids..... how do they get their info on upcoming shows. we\'ll just have to go into a high school and pass out fliers, i sense getting arrested real quick. i was think during the show..... what else are these kids going to do. maybe make the shows cheaper for the kids...... i know i didn\'t have money when i was in high school.

I didn\'t do shows at all in high school bc I didn\'t have a car (youngest of 4, 3 cars on a friday night, you do the math).

I would look at younger fans like any new fans. you have to get them where they already are. If you can\'t go to the high school, flier the hippe/rock high school band shows. You know the ones, toads place on a tuesday, 50 bands you never heard of and only 3 people there that are not family relation. Also, get onto the online areas where the bigger bands are, like phantasy tour and jambands. Also, you could go out and be one of the asshole bands on myspace that is always out looking for fans.

just a few ideas.

i was planning on going to a couple EMOish shows in the next couple days and pass out fliers and cd\'s for the Century Lounge show in a couple weeks. i would think once they heard some of the music some of them might be into it. high school is all about being different right... or at least thats the way i dealt with it.

Kudos to Ken Rolfowitz(sp?) who video and audio taped the FF8.  I am watching it now and the sound and video quality are great for what it is.  It is even more than just one static shot as Ken moves and zooms the camera in order to catch all the action going down on stage.....
If you get a chance to pick up a copy of this, you really should, especially for all those who weren\'t there, its a good chance to get a look at what you missed.....

PS. Greg Ellis...FANTASTIC job on lights.....
