6 hour drive. Maybe.

i will split up the driving with you if i can get the funds together

Its sounds so enticing! Not sure if i have the funds either and i have a worn axel rod that needs replacing. Do you know anyone in CT or something that could drive the rest of the way?

philly needs some gypsy influx!  if ur axel rod is worn [i don\'t even know what that is], might as well add some more wear before you replace it!

I drove from Hampton Beach, NH [ratdog] to Andes, NY [cabinfest], then back to Burlington, VT with this as a brake pad:

I am a little more than psyched!!

I have heard that parts of philly are way rough. Can anyone share some advice about routes to take/not take, areas to avoid, etc?

Philly isn\'t that bad.  I\'ve lived here for about a year and haven\'t been hassled by anyone on the street.  The area around the Blockley is pretty safe.  Just don\'t leave anything visible in your car, just like any city.

...Blockley is named after a nearby 19th Century insane asylum, a place whose inhabitants acted like the sort of wildly entertaining nut-jobs you long to emulate. To get you there, the full bar\'s complemented by a dual 12-draft system pouring Irish classics from Guinness to Smithwick\'s, local brews like Yards Philly Pale, Victory HopDevil, and Stoudt\'s Pils, plus rotating micros like Tröegs Hop Back and Long Trail Double Bag, the ale-batross of supermarket checkers worldwide. Meanwhile, the reasonably priced menu (nothing over $15) offers inventive snacks like lobster pierogies, fried oysters, and jerked chicken nuggets, as well as sandwiches like the house smoked pulled pork, filet mignon, and New England clam roll; entrées include pork chop schnitzel, beer battered fish & chips, and beef short ribs done up Flemish style (if you want it any other way, you\'re Wal-loony)....

and according to the scathing review on google maps, stay away from the mixed drinks unless you like the added kick of windex... I think she overreacts in this review.
