Here is a good site for cheap blank media.
http://www.digitalcomputersolutions.com

DVD+Rs are much more compatible than DVD-Rs, but a little more expensive. So if you have any doubt because your dvd player is older or not a name brand buy the DVD+Rs.

The blanks are dirt cheap at this site, but the shipping is over priced. Its still a great deal though. When i offered the Porter\'s DVDs most people bought blanks that probably cost much more than they should have spent. The 4x blanks from this site are the best deal they offer.

Chris, I ditto that, If you have time to do it.

matt, will there be an audio version of this for those of us in PAL land/ who don\'t watch DVDs that often?

Would love to have seen this and chris\' show, but trust the powers that be on my side of the pond for using different formats.

matt and i had this discussion a while ago, but i dont know what our final decision was.

If matt\'s dvd is already authored and he did not save the DVD architecht session with the uncompressed version of the final rendered video then its too late to make a PAL version. I still have my DVD Architect session for Porter\'s, so i can make a PAL version of that if you want to do a B+P.

Since you brought this up, from now on i am just going to archive NTSC and PAL versions for all my video projects because the breakfast will probably have fans in Europe years from now. The only problem is that i do not have any way of testing a PAL DVD to make sure it plays.

Don\'t know about your machine, but on mine you can change the region for dvds a couple of times before it has to be reset by the manufacturers (or someone who knows a fair bit!). If you could find someone with a dvd who can play both formats (That\'s a general plea to the guys out there reading this ;) ), once you\'d checked it once, it could be assumed that all would work.

I\'d certainly be up for B+Ps of some shows - don\'t mind risking trying out the Porter\'s one. Can send some blanks - which media are best for you?

On another point, it\'s interesting that you say DVD+Rs are dearer - they\'re the same price over here. Can get Memorex for about $2.50 a piece in Staples in either format.

I dont mind converting it to PAL. I think its a good idea to have PAL and NTSC both archived.

Whatever brand you want to send is fine with me. I can burn pretty much anything. I have never had a problem with any brand other than K-Hypermedia, but that was because they make crap media and the 2 layers of plastic on the dvds separate and fall apart. The real issue is whether or not your DVD player can play the particular brand.

At the site i posted earlier dvd-rs are $0.10 apiece and dvd+rs are $0.20 apiece, plus shipping of course. the dvd-rs are $0.40 apiece after shipping, so thats still a better deal.

I can do one more, Email me off the board.

I pretty much zoomed directly on the band, only a few people at the bar are in the video and its just the back of their heads.
