ETREE

The best way to do it it run the torrent off of etree and post the links on sharingthegroove and pbfans. it doesnt matter where the torrent is hosted from just as long as people have access to it. People will also see it when they browse torrents on bt.etree.org so it should definately be posted there and then just linked to sharingthegroove and pbfans.

I will try to track out my recording and FLAC it tonight so i can start uploading it to archive.org.

exactly my point.

the whole point of hosting it on etree is that people go to bt.etree.org, and boom, it\'s there. right in front of you. and it\'s on the front page for a couple days.

gray, this isn\'t a competition.. i know you and the etree don\'t see eye to eye on some things, but we all ultimately want the same thing here. it\'s the combined efforts of all these sites that will make this the most productive in the long run.

etree or stg?

While I agree with davepeck\'s idea to get as much exposure as possible, why does it need to be on etree and announced elsewhere? STG is a far better site in terms of appealing to a wider range of listener. Surely it\'s easier to keep it all in one place.

etree IS the accepted grail for dead trading, but it is very limited in scope. Apart from the bigger bands like gd, phish, dmb etc, lesser bands get the moniker "Other" rather than their own name. I would be worried about pb getting LESS exposure as they try to compete with these other highly established bands.

In addition, etree has a name for being a site for jambands, but pb seems to be increasingly moving towards breaking out of the stereotype and absorbing more influences and styles. STGers may well be just as receptive as etree-ers.

My other thought is, do we really want one all powerful site out there? It seems to me that if everything is hosted on etree, stg, along with some of the small sites like cotapers and bombsession, may get swallowed up.

Just my couple of euros worth. Whatever you decide, it won\'t affect me - I\'ll still search out the pb or breakfast or whatever they decide to call themselves.
