What you\'re doing is illegal and disrespectful to the musicians. I\'m no saint, I occasionally will download an album to preview it before purchasing it. I started a song of the day thread to introduce new artists by posting a song or two by them to interest people in buying the actual album. With the amount of money you people spend on fleeting happiness ie booze and drugs, I find it appalling that you "music lovers" can\'t sacrifice 16-20 bucks for a fucking cd, something that doesn\'t dissappear after a few hours and leave you sick and with an STD (;) ).  You all know the band personally and you know how hard it is for a band to "make it", which is why I think it\'s disturbing that you would take, take and take. And please don\'t give me that bullshit, "it\'s the record industry\'s fault" or "they don\'t need the money". It\'s the principle that counts. These musicians worked their ass mentally, emotionally and physically to create the album you are downloading for free.  I\'m not trying to be an ass hole,I\'m just taking an ethical stance.....

I personally don\'t come to the shows purely for the booze/drugs, (and we\'ve got a few (Jim_Cobb) who are dead sober) I\'m alittle offended that you would say that.  I love the music and those four guys are like brothers to me, on top of that the people in this scene are my family, as much as my own family sometimes.  So if I said the scene wasn\'t a part of the equation I\'d be lying.  It makes a good thing a great thing.  It an all inclusive thing.

I\'m not agreeing with you, or diagreeing with you on the stealing music thing, but dont\' turn it into something it isn\'t

Oh and before you assume that Dave wouldn\'t get fucked over for this letme offer you a scenario.  First off The Breakfast is still an independent artist. I work as an A&R scout for SONY-BMG. I submitted The Breakfast to them this past month. They were very impressed with Real Radio, but wanted a more exact reading into their fan demographic. So I pointed them to ta-dah http://www.thebreakfast.info So some of the "guests" browsing the site may just very well be people involved in the music industry and I doubt they\'ll be smiling at this thread.

It\'s one thing to post albums on underground messageboards, but to post it on a fansite is poor judgement.....

umm are you fucking kidding me? i think i would have more respect for your opinion if you didn\'t make such dipshit comments like that. fyi, saying that people within this crowd spend more money on drugs or the "scene surrounding it" than music is total bullshit..not only that, but that statement is rude. sure, i understand if you think that we are stealing music and what we\'re doing might be wrong in your own worthless opinion but you really didn\'t need to go down the insult route.

What I do care about is music and from what I\'ve seen people just don\'t really care about supporting recording artists.  I DOUBT that anyone who downloads the albums on this thread will actually purchase them in the near future.What pisses me off is that not only are you fucking over the artist,  but you\'re also fucking over the independent record stores, which try to provide music you can\'t find in corporate stores like Strawberries and FYE.

I\'ve been around the concert scene way longer than you have Mama(not to discredit your newfound love and passion for it), and from a sociological perspective I\'ve concluded that it\'s a scene of hedonism at it\'s finest. My point is if you have money to burn on booze and drugs, then you have money to buy a cd.  It\'s common decency and THE LEAST you can do for a musician.

wow..you\'re such much headier than me joe. i truly envy the 3 year age difference between us because it makes you such a better person and so much more cultured. i love how you know so much more about music and life in general than everyone else on this site and everyone in the world for that matter. i like how you think that i have money to burn, can\'t help it if i work full time and do a damn good job with managing my money. thank you for all of your input. hope to see you at a show soon.
