Wow The Breakfast is fairly prolific
« on: April 07, 2004, 05:39:58 pm »
So I was perusing my Pharmer\'s and saw that up to the hiatus Phish had 193 Originals in 15 years. I count around 51 Breakfast originals so far in the 5 yrs. they have been together.
So I figure if they keep @ it , they will have a HUGE array of songs to play in just a few years and from the way the "newer" songs are coming along, that is something to look forward to. :awwyeah:

Last year i did take the time to count how many originals there were and came up with 51 or 52. since then they have debuted sleeping beauty, gravity, vera street, inner glimpse, dimension 5, za, doughboy, and no regret

So they have about 60 now.

yeah, even though they were only played once. and now that i think about it The Late And Great was not ot the list. that was only played three times. so i think its either 60 or 61 originals total.

would it be possible for them to even do that and still put on good shows if it was less than a 5 night run?

So I see I was correct in my thought that they were prolific. Seems they have even more songs than I had 1st thought!

Funny thing i started this thread because my roommate had asked how many songs they had by now and I off the top of my head said 60 or so. I just wanted to see if I was actually correct so I counted songs from the lyric thread and then deduced more from my boots and setlists. I am glad i was pretty close.
sidenote: found out @ Oktoberfest last yr. that my roommate Brian had a mutual friend w/ Tim. Small world huh?

Its possible, but with 30 songs a night, you would have to cut down the songs to their rawest forms. No room for jamming or extended solos, plus there would be no covers, as this list is only for origional pb songs. (songs like vortex and grand scheme wouldnt be givin justice)

pearl jam did it this summer over the boston shows: 3 nights, every song that was currently in the repitour was played once.

Ahhh...Beer Jubillee...my alltime favorite PB original.  You know your parties are ser when a band writes and performs a song telling people to go to your house for a party.

:P hehehe Beer jubilee

that pearl st. was not taped, but I have video of it, therefore the ONLY COPY of Beer jubilee is at my house on a minidv tape sitting in my safe. The audio is what it is because it was recorded using the camera mics. Heres the stage setup:
Tim - guitar and vocals
Adrian - Tamborine, slap
Ron - maraccas
Jordan - sitting behind drum kit playing bass drum in straight 4s while playing harmonica

since I like you all though, here are the lyrics. The crowd gets pretty loud at points since its just the camera mic, and I couldn\'t make it all out. Underlined sections are my best guess:
===========================
Guinness bach baby, flowin\' from the tap.
Guinness bach ba-by, flowing from the tap.
Well that\'s what we want, \'cause the yellow stuff is crap.

Black and tan, from the Irish land.
Black and ta-an, from the Irish land.
Watch my friend get drunk and start to play his lap.
"Play your lap Adj!"
[Adrian does a drum solo by slapping his quads]

ya-da-dada*, thrown down one by one.
ya-da-daa-da*, thrown down one by one.
Now lets see those sweet leafs, leads to so much fun.
"Play on Jordan on the har-mon-i-ca"
[Jordan harmonica solo]

Wolfman Jack, passionate down in front(??)
Wolfman Jack, passionate down in front(??)
When the music\'s over, lets all go out and get trashed.

"Everybody, Beer Jubilee everybody. God bless the guinness, (pause)
and the people that make it send it over to us!"
================================

*the name of some Beer or pot, I have no idea what he says.
Also, while watching this again, I noticed dave pec taking pictures from stage right (ron side)
