Chasing Amy: Budget: $250,000 (estimated)
opening weekend: $1,642,402 (USA) (20 April 1997) (519 Screens) (wide release)

Dogma: Budget:$10,000,000 (estimated)
$8,669,945 (USA) (14 November 1999) (1,269 Screens)

Strike Back: Budget:$22,000,000 (estimated)
opening:$11,018,543 (USA) (26 August 2001) (2,765 Screens)

Really not all that different from what he normally does, I don\'t think you can\'t say that those movies weren\'t a success.  No they didn\'t have Spiderman numbers, (a real movie) but they certainly made $$$$

yeah not even 1/11th of aquaman

8.3 Opening Weekend is horrible dude, i dont think that film made money.

As of Sept. \'04 (w/ worldwide ticket sales & 3 weeks of DVD) it had earned close to $2M more than its estimated $35M price tag.

Far from a blockbuster, but nobody lost money.  I\'m sure K.Smith and the rest of the cast wasn\'t going into this project thinking that it was going to break any box office records.

I watched an interview w/ Kevin Spacey the other day where he was talking about the business aspects of the film industry and how studios accept the fact that 1/3 of the movies they make each year will only break even, 1/3 will be flops, 1/3 will make good money and they prey that they get 1 blockbuster.

On that note, I\'m outta here.  I\'m off to Winnipeg, I\'m making an ultra low budget film about a guy in his early 30\'s, who just started a new job & has no idea what he\'s doing.  But his bosses insist on sending him to customer sites obviously as a means of torture and a good laugh at his account.  It\'ll sorta be a Mr. Bean meets Duece Bigalow...

Oh you\'ll have to do better than that Mandler.  I\'ve got you penciled in to play the mean spirited yet wildly hysterical "Boss #2".  It\'s a small but important role.

GMA\'s Siegel storms out of \'Clerks II\' screening
Maybe it\'s because he has to wake up so early. Or maybe he just doesn\'t like Kevin Smith.

Either way, one thing\'s certain: "Good Morning America" film critic Joel Siegel really, really hates "Clerks II," set to open Friday at theaters across the country.

Sitting in the front row of a packed midtown Manhattan screening room Monday night, Siegel dramatically stood up only 30 minutes into the film and stormed out, to the amazement of those in attendance.

And he didn\'t go quietly.

"Time to go!" he yelled as he stood up and proceeding to walk out, passing dozens of critics and writers on his way to the door. And his tirade continued all the way out, as he yelled over the film\'s dialogue that this was the first time "in thiry (expletive) years" he had walked out on a film.

The apparent reason for Siegel\'s vulgar outburst? A line of dialogue in the film - well, one of many, actually - about sex between a woman and a donkey. Later in the screening, one other unnamed critic appeared to make an early departure.

Only time will tell what Siegel has to say about the episode on "GMA" this Friday

Now I really can\'t wait to see this movie
"I taught them everything they know, but not everything I know."
"The one thing that can solve most of our problems is dancing."

A friend of mine said they heard Kevin Smith being interviewed on NPR, and he said everyone around him was against the idea of this movie.  Scott Mosier (uber producer(and the guy that plays "snowball" in the first one)) was esp against it, but the hardest to convince was Dante, he was completely against it.

Anyway I\'m gonna go see it this weekend, prob sun, so we\'ll see.  I\'m too intrigued that Siegel walked out during the screening.

Don\'t Miss: Kevin Smith Clocks in with \'Clerks II\'
July 20, 2006 · Finally someone on NPR to speak up for shiftless layabouts. Kevin Smith, director of the low-budget classic Clerks talks to Morning Edition\'s Steve Inskeep about the upcoming release of -- you guessed it -- Clerks II.

Dante and Randal have moved on from the QuikStop to a fast food joint, but their MO remains the same: minimum work for minimum wage.

Smith is funny, but unexpectedly touching when talking about the unambitious but utterly human individuals who inspire his movies. "Someone\'s got to sell me the milk, dude," he tells Inskeep. "Not everyone shoots for the moon... some people are happy to scrape by."

for a board that managed to post 3+ pages of hoopla before this movie was released, i can\'t believe there\'s been only one post since it came out..

we saw it on opening night in a relatively empty theatre.. i got tix in advance thinking it would sell out, and it wasn\'t even close (and was only playing on one screen at the theatre we went to).

anyways, i thought it was really good. no, not as funny as the original, and i didn\'t think it was as funny as J&SBSB either, but i still thought it was damn good. wasn\'t disappointed with it at all. k.smith\'s wife still sucks though..

favorite parts were the racism part and the SW/LOTR argument.. i\'ll probably see it once more in the theatre..
