Let\'s bombard WCCC with Moxie Epoxy requests
« on: September 11, 2006, 09:48:20 pm »
To Everyone on .INFO:

106.9 WCCC needs to start hearing calls requesting Moxie Epoxy.
They are an independent radio station based in Hartford who take great pride in the fact that they played Springfield\'s Staind before anyone else.
They don\'t require a major label to get airplay.
http://www.wccc.com/

They lean a little more to the metal side, but a Surreal Radio or a Psygn would fit nicely.  They\'ll probably even do a Late and the Great.

We need to:

1. Get the approval from official Breakfast management.

2. Get the station a copy.

3. Choose one song and one song only (intially at least) and persistently bug the shit out of them to play.

All of us need to be involved. They\'ll overlook one nut, 40 or 50 asscracks are hard to ignore.  We need to have at least 10 people call everyday.  Preferrably in the same DJ\'s time slot.

This is just off the top of my head. Please add thoughts and ideas.

This is our chance to really do something for these guys instead of just talking.

Thank you,

Brian

Word.

I would also recommend WRSI (The River) which has stations going all up the pioneer valley in Mass and VT. This station is really big in the Northampton area and it plays the best mix of music in the area.... WSP, Umphreys, Phish, etc all get shown occasional love from the station.

They are independent too and will play something if they get enough requests. WRSI is known to discover songs long before other more "mainstream" stations put them on their crappy limited playlists.

I have yet to hear the new album so I can\'t decide which song I\'d want to start calling in to request... but yes its very important to pick 1 song and pretty much stick with it in order to make a "hit".

I don\'t agree that we have to check with management... I mean, do I have to ask to use the bathroom too?

Surreal Radio would probably be well suited to WCCC
Good Things might be better for WRSI

there is no reason we can\'t target different radio stations with a harder rocking song for the harder rock station and a slower/extra-tasteful song for the hippie/indie station.

It just so happens that WRSI is an extremely popular indie radio station around here, it can be done!

No relation to the Hartford and MASS River....I spend a good bit of time in the Boston area where my girlfriend listens to that River Station and was confused at first too.  The Boston River (92.5 I think) is much better than Lenny Kravitz > Smash Mouth > Sugar Ray that you will hear on the CT River!
This isn\'t who it would be if it wasn\'t who it is.

WHCN 105.9 in Hartford is also called "The River". Or at least that is what it got changed to a while ago when ClearCRAP Communications bought them out. Talk about the death of a great radio staion!!! That one hurt more than the ClearCRAP buy-out of 104.1.

But I agree...it should be a request for only a certain song. Psygn or Honey Butter would be my picks for CCC.

Request line: 860-525-WCCC* but NOT YET they don\'t have the album yet

Thinking a little further on this, I think the target number of people should be 50.  10 people per weekday.  Each day gets a "captain" for lack of a better word who reminds his "team" to call.  Each person only has to call one day a week.  Not too hard. Think- the "snow list" from elementary school.
Is this anal? Over the top? Work?  Yes on all accounts.  This is business.  This is serious.  There no such thing as too structured or over organized.

I hear you on this, I really do, but the thought behind approval is having all oars rowing in the same direction.  Concentrated effort is key.  Too often I get the feeling some .infoers have an adversarial relationship with band management.  No good.  Altogether on this one.

I think Honeybutter would be a more likely option probably closer to a regular radio length tune.

Agreed.  What\'s the track time?  Also the topic of this song might result in a little DJ chat. Everything helps.

what about Intension, thats more the rocker of the bunch.  plus its radio length and a better all around tune than Surreal Radio.

ccc prides itself on hard stuff, so you\'re going to need at least an intension or surreal radio to get on during the day.

However, your best bet for airplay on ccc is to push for tricky ways during beef stews blues show. The only problem is, this wont roll over onto the rest of the schedule.

good luck!
