If that\'s the case, then you should be all for hillary. She wants to seize all profits from big oil and forcfully put them into whatever programs she sees fit. Right now that is \'alternative fuel research\', but I\'m sure it would change fast if she was elected. You can\'t get a clearer definition of communism that that.

hell when i heard that i thought it was a great freak\'n idea. those oil guys have enough of our freak\'n money. As for what I knew then/what I know now, she knew all of this then. She was publically against it then and voted for it anyway because she had to. Why? If she didn\'t, she ran the risk of loosing the military vote in her next senate election and then would stand no chance to run for president if she was not a congresswoman. She HAD to vote for it to keep her job and then try and backstep about how she was lied to. She knew exactly what she was doing, and you can find speeches she gave at the time to prove it.

I would say that she voted for it because she thought it was the correct political move (not a huge Military vote in NY). So I agree with your premise but would say that she has always been for it. She was not against the War in Iraq. She never has been. She isn\'t really against it now. Post 9/11 it was political suicide to not vote for military action. Only a few brave dems were bold enough to say this is a bad idea. I think there was what only a handful that voted no on giving the president power to go to war. She just didn\'t want to be seen as weak on national security and voted in such a way that it couldn\'t be used against her by the facists. But now the whole Monday morning quarterback answers are just silly. It makes her seem wishy washy and w/o conviction.

True true...i forgot about that.  on vacation in mexico last year, i was oogled by the locals in a not so platonic way.  but i just dont like canada...mmm...maybe england...

Where abouts in Mexico did all yous have issues?

I was an exchange student there in my youth. I never had an issue granted it was a while ago.

I also vacationed there once or twice. Never had any issues. well 1 time a group of guys were talking shyte about us behind our backs not thinking myslef and the guys I was with spoke Spanish. They were certainly surprised when we had something to say about it.

I personally think Mexico is a beautiful country.

Current US law allows anyone put into armed service via conscript or any other form of signing up who deserts and moves to another country (aka draft dodge to canada) to be arrested, brought back and put up on charges of desertion in a military court. This agreement is set with both mexico and canada, don\'t know about europe. Also, as you may or may not be aware, upon signing up for military service, YOUR BODY becomes MILITARY PROPERTY for the 8 year minimum that you are enlisted, which means that if you purposely hurt yourself as a way of getting off the front lines (break your leg, shoot yourself in the foot, etc) you can and will be brought up on charges of willful destruction of military property.

As I always asked the recruiters in high school:
1. If it is as good as you say, why are you here trying to persuade me to join? It wouldn\'t have anything to do with the fact that you get to extend your leave and stay home in the states an additional 2 months as long as you keep getting people to sign up, would it? I mean, if it is so good, why are you here and not overseas?
2. Have you ever read "All quiet on the western front"? Because you really should.

Sure Mexico is very pretty once past the border Shanty towns and I have had little trouble once past Baja.
However I attribute that to the groups I have been with and the fact that I understand and can read spanish well enough to get by.

i was in riveria maya, mexico last year.  we mainly stayed at the resort because my friends got married there, but ventured off one day into the town of playa del carmen.  Not too many white tourists do that, but some do.  alot of locals on a saturday afternoon.  it had an interesting feel.  there was actually a spanish rock band on a boardwalk playing.  they played a variety of tunes, including two RHCP songs and one pearl jam.  beautiful country overall, i won\'t argue that.   but definitely undesirables wander the land.  

the policia that stand on every corner hold a machine gun.  a little scary when you think about it.  they\'re friendly to tourists...hence this picture.  note: he is holding a Hamden CT Police Patch.
