Terrible picture because of the circumstances but this is a Pulitzer Prize winning shot taken in the Darfur region of the Sudan and really conveys something important IMO

anyways, I figured it would be suitable for this thread. Sorry in advance if this picture upsets anyone.

wow... terribly disturbing... but can\'t turn our backs on shit like this...

when i first saw this picture i thought the vulture was looking at a dead mule or something.  then i looked a little better...it is deeply disturbing, but both galenas and bennyboomers are right.  it\'s something that must be noted by others.  Darfur is a tragedy and it\'s only getting worse.  This picture has beautiful symbology...nice find ben
if you need me i\'ll be in the Angry Dome!

Worlds first completely privately funded and developed craft to reach and sustain orbit happened yesterday. This company is backed by one of the guys who started/runs paypal. All those little fees add up!

FLIGHT 4 LAUNCH UPDATE
Quote from: Post Launch Statement
Wow, this is a great day for SpaceX and the culmination of an enormous amount of work by a great team. The data shows we achieved a super precise orbit insertion — middle of the bullseye — and then went on to coast and restart the second stage, which was icing on the cake.

I will have a more complete post launch statement tomorrow, as right now I\'m in a bit of a daze and need to go celebrate :)

The universe is expanding.

The universe is expanding?

Well, the universe is everything, and if it\'s expanding, someday it will break apart and that would be the end of everything!

The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash
