Blue Floyd

i was at this show and it was so good, it caused me to start driving all over the place to see them, booking them at the bar i worked at and having them stay out at my house pre- and post-shows. there\'s even a show out there where they thank us (me and my best friend jason - \'the jasons\') from the stage. so, imagine my surprise to find a new sbd source for this badass first show!!! i had the aud\'s for a long time, but hadnt ever seen this sbd!!! if you\'ve never heard johnny neel sing and ply keys, GET THIS SHOW!! if you like marc ford (black crowes) even a little tiny bit GET THIS SHOW!! if you lke Allen Woody (though he mostly plays rhthym guitar and mandolin, but his 12 string bass solo is incredible!) at all GET THIS SHOW!!! if you\'ve ever heard of barry oakley, jr, GET THIS SHOW!! and if you love matt abts and recognize his drumming badassery, GET THIS SHOW!!!! (it was before this show that i spent a half hour maknig fun of matt abts without realizing it was him until he got onstage.... he was wearing skin tight leather and had recently bleached his hair... he looked very much like someone trying to look like iggy pop...)

Is there any way that this can be put up on archive or some direct download site?

I\'ve seen the name around, know a little about Blue Floyd but never had the actual urge to give it a listen, now I have no excuse. Let you know.

did that come across?? i was wonderng if i\'d been too subtle, maybe....

;)

spacey~ this is far and away their best lineup. much like gov\'t mule, once woody passed, this band went downhill. the later lineups with duane betts on second guitar and one of the door\'s kids on drums stunk it up pretty hardcore. there was a 2005 lineup with audley freed and alvin youngblood hart that got much better, but toured only briefly. johnny\'s voice (think gravelly and honest) is great and his otherworldly key playing can really get out there sometimes. his being blind helps get rid of any \'normalcy\' in his playing. what he hears is what comes out! he was their secret weapon, if you ask me! but you simply can\'t argue with marc ford on the guitar! from really bluesy tunes like us & them & money to rockers like have a cigar and another brick in the wall, he\'s just note perfect!! and barry does a pretty good waters impersonation, so that\'s pretty cool, too....

here\'s a you tube clip (from the tour immediately after woody\'s death, no matter what the original poster thinks...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3Om8L_kniB8 enjoy!

Coolio. Gonna give it a nice listen once it gets d/l\'d. Is Blue Floyd jazzy? or am I thinking of a different Floyd band?

maybe jazz is dead? blue floyd is bluesy, hence the name. i think jeff pevar played in BF for a bit, too, though he\'s most recently been with jazz is dead (which was formed by the same manager/promoter that started BF). i could be mixed up about him, though. i know i saw jid on st pat\'s day last year w/pevar, though...

oh, and i\'m upping at 250+, so hopefully your d/l won\'t take too long!

Jazz is Dead was what I was thinking of, which I have seen them.

This all makes sense to me now, Blue Floyd is more blues.

I don\'t know...I\'ve only got like 450 gigabytes of free hard drive space. I certainly don\'t want to waste any of it! ;)

I\'ve always wondered about this band, is there any place to stream this since I can\'t download shows as of yet (i\'m working on hopefully getting cable internet finally, but it may not happen)
