how do they run this competition? they got a band playing behind em or what? do they choose what songs to play? etc.???????
The crickets and the rust-beetles scuttled among the nettles of the sagethicket. "Vamanos amigos," he whispered, and threw the busted leather flintscraw over the loose weave of the saddlecock. And they rode on in the friscalating dusklight.  --Eli Cash

there\'s a cd with like 20 backing tracks of all different genres, and the contestants pick their track out ahead of time. i\'ve recorded both of these so far, and when it\'s all over, you\'ll be able to hear the whole thing..

Tim was great last night, not even close. The judging worries me though. The kid who got second wasn\'t even in the running in my book. Apparently, playing with your teeth, behind your back, and sticking the neck of the guitar right in the judge\'s face scores points. I was deducting points for the stupidity of it.

the kid definitely got points for tricks.. i didn\'t think he was very good, but he was decent, came off the stage and walked around a little bit, played behind his head (which tim could and definitely *should* do in the next round), and played with his teeth. tricks are good, especially when you can pull them off..

but i thought 2nd place should have gone to the guy who played the same tune as tim.. he was good..

the Kirk Hammet playing Carlos Santana was just hilarious though.. when that tune ever started up, i thought for sure the guy had the wrong track on the cd. :) i was impressed just by the fact that he was playing a different genre than i expected to see him playing, but his dirty metal tone didn\'t go with the latin music AT ALL.

That tone had about the same effect as nails on a chalkboard! EEEK!  I agree with your vote for 2nd place. I actually enjoyed his jazzy style and tone quite a bit.
