we\'re gonna try to get the same basic spot as our folks had last year. that way we can still see the music when we need to chill at home base. no floating cabin this year, though...

you guys had a great spot last year, maybe the best spot there.  I never really got to check it out but it seemed like the floating cabin wasn\'t worth it, just cause of the distance from the rest of the fest.

it\'d\'ve been cooler if it had been a little nicer. its definitely a primitive camping experience! but, that\'s what its billed as and that\'s what they repeatedly warned us it was gonna be like, so i\'m not complaining. and having it removed from everything was actually kinda nice, we got some time to watch the pond and be by ourselves, joining the fray whenever we felt like it. which was usually.... i would say that its overpriced, though. that was one of the most expensive camp sites i\'ve ever seen. true, its the only camp site i\'ve ever had that floated, but still, that didn\'t justify the extra price nearly enough. oh well, live and learn. the story of the floating cabin is better than the actuality of the floating cabin, but when told in conjunction with the story of the proposal and the whole weekend, i wouldn\'t have had it any other way! :)

but yeah, this year i wanna be in the main area for sure. i mean hell, we missed midnight spaghetti last year and i\'m not gonna risk the same mistake this year!

:( unfortunately, Midnight Spaghetti and the Chocolate G-Strings won\'t be back this summer... I guess the band wanted too much money, and the festival cancelled their act.  :sadban:

all I got to say is Garaj Mahal, The Breakfast and RAQ...that got me sold, right when I read that. bought my 3 day tix....I hope tim joins Garaj Mahal for a song or two and rips it....or even better tim joins barefoot manner and rips a couple songs, that could get reall dirty!!!!!!
From what I hear, the heybro productions crew who throws this event are breakfast lovers and will have them every year...Hopefully they can get a late nite set next year....or even better play both nights!!!!!!

you guys will probably dig monkey navigated robots. the guitarist, mike, studied with kimock for a long time (he even came down and sat in with them recently) and plays a pretty sweet lap steel, among other things. i was gonna post a link to this show the day joe started his d/l thread but i didn\'t want to seem like a copy cat....

Thats the rumor going around that with mike from monkey navigated robots being steve kimocks old roomate back in the day and this being kinda side project for the bass player and banjo player from barefoot manner if kimocks schedule isnt too hectic he will be there doing guitar workshops and making special appearances...But not getting my hopes up too much, there is plenty of good music there anyways..
Barefoot Manner
Garaj Mahal
RAQ
The Breakfast
Brothers Past
The Itals
Dub is a Weapon
Yo Mama\'s Big Fat Booty Band
The Bridge
DJ Williams Projekt
Modern Groove Syndicate

I also heard through the grapevine that they are trying to add one more band on thursday night and it from what I hear it might be U-Melt or Spam Allstars....

that would really top the cake...

I love pedal steel, what a great sounding instrument.

No offense to U-Melt fans out there but I really hope the other band is the Spam Allstars.

actually i forgot that the bridge is gonna be there. guys, if the band really wants to start pulling big crowds in baltimore, they need to do shows there with the bridge! they were the funk by ten\'s wednesday night band for a year-ish and have a very dedicated following. maybe abreakfast set>bridge set>breakfast set>bridge set kinda deal. not to mention that the biggest bridge fans i know are also big breakfast fans, so there\'s an overlap of like minds, if not like music....

modern groove syndicate is real fun, too. they\'re from richmond, along with dj williams. the guys should do their best to try to link up with either/both of those acts so they can start playing richmond, too!

and yes, anything i can suggest to help get the breakfast to play more shows within an hour or so of me, i will! :selfish:

but frankly, with that lineup, if there\'s any way to have a super-jam late night kinda deal with any and all of those musicians, i think it would be truly ser!
