first and foremost, this is NOT directed at you spacey.  that said, when a good faith effort is not put forward by the band and their management you cannot fault the fans.  where is the grassroots push for each and every show?  hell, in the "Dig" forum, which is supposed to help with promotions, .info still has this bit of crap from 2004

I have on numerous occassion stated that its the little things that would make the difference here. I hold only the organization responsible for the situation it is in. The "dig" forum is for the .info people and as far as I noticed, anything that happens in there dies either from lack of interest and/or support. I simply was making that statement that there is no need to sit at the computer when we as fans can go out and make a difference in the grassroots. Shit, you will get a free copy of Moxie Epoxy for helping out at the Toads Show.

You can also find any contact info at http://www.thebreakfast.org under promo and Contact.

Thanks!

fyi, that URL goes to some empty directory.  go to the breakfast.net and their promo page, and the link to find out more about how you can help doesn\'t even take you to an email sign up (http://www.thebreakfast.net/promo.php?promo=grassrootsjoin & http://www.thebreakfast.net/promo.php are EXACTLY THE SAME)

if i was new fan who truely wanted to help out, that information would confuse me and perhaps discourage me from taking further action.  fans want it easy, and the current information is making it anything but that.

why is the guitarist leading the charge?  where is our designated grass roots leader?  i personally am on the street teams for moon boot lover (satellites), ryan montbleau band (bleau crew) and assembly of dust (tavern walkers).  we receive emails ASKING US FOR HELP.  we receive emails REMINDING US TO HELP.

perhaps i am missing something, but i still cannot find a "sign up" for the breakfast street team (whatever the hell it\'s called).  i also happen to live outside of most of the markets they frequently play in, so me flyering would be of no help.

i agree with you spacey, that everyone loves to point out what\'s wrong and who\'s fault it is.  but the big finger should be pointed squarely at the organization who has not made it easy for the fans to help out, or when their help is needed urgently.  who\'s currently responsible for running the grassroots campaign, still tim?

again, I have very little idea what is going on anymore, yet I seem to be in the mix of things.

I have emailed Tim at the .org address and he does receive emails. I have noticed that a lot of the links are dead. I also know how discouraging it can be from every aspect and its not necessary.

I belong to plenty of grassroots organizations on top of being a Homegrown Rep and I have to say that it allows you to see different systems and this one needs change badly.

Not sure why people are knocking Wormtown AGAIN!!!!!!

Mark and Gabriel have been nothing but supportive of the Breakfast for fucking years now. They invite the band to play at everyone of the festivals that they do. Perhaps if any of you fucking slackers ever went to StrangeCreek or Wormtown they might even get a better slot. The worms have given the breakfast headlining spots in 2003 at their festival How many festivals have done that ? (maybe 1 or 2 and that was like this year).

So I make apost about the band not playing the greatest set IMHO and it turns in to the festival is the problem etc etc.

This festival is one of the better festivals in the North east. There is never a search getting in, There is little to no wait to get in ever. You get to camp in the woods like real camping and not shoved together in an open field with no shade. They have music all day some bands start at 4AM in the cabins. Ticket prices at the highest were $70.00 name 1 festival where you get 3 days of music for that price ?

I have to say that I am getting tired of the folks on .info who always make excuses for the band. The crowd for the Breakfast at wormtown (a rinky dink festival as you are saying) was sad. This is in the heart of the bands area and they had a decent sized crowd. RAQ had way more people in front for them rocking out (1 band after the bfast). The crowd size wasn\'t even close. Hell on Sunday for Ryan Montbleau (who I love) they were the 2nd to last band and folks always have a mass exodus on sunday and they still had more people then the Breakfast. The band is either shy or just doesn\'t care. They used to go and mingle with the crowd they haven\'t doent that in years (first time we met Ron he was hangiong out reading by the soundboard). They sometimes do it at bar shows but they are usually never out fostering their own relationships with fans or trying to drum up support for it. I said this to Vallo on Sunday and he took the position that it is the bands job and they usually want to take off. But it is their job to foster support for THEIR BAND and they never do it. They leave it up to others to do. It seems that they are happy with the small tight circle that they have around them, unfortunately that small tight circle cannot fill venues from here to cali.

I love the Breakfast but they need a serious reality check me thinks and so do a lot of you

Oh calm down i was just saying it is a small festie...I have never been, so i dont know if it is lame/ser. as long as the breakfast plays there im sure it is a great time.
I know the reality of the bands situation and so do they. Dont think you know the answer to all of their problems.

It is fucking silly to sit behind your keyboard with what needs to be done. Promotion for a band that no one has every heard of is unbelievably difficult.

My line is thin with how excuses can be made about who should be doing what. Do you think their would be civil rights in this country if those smoked out hippies just sat in their rooms smoking dope and talking about what should be done? NO CHANCE. They got off their asses and went outside and started a revolution.

Get to it. I will post flyers/posters for anyone show you want.

well then give me some fucking flyers spaceman ;)

Other than some tracking issues it sounds pretty damn good. WUIAC starts @ 4:53 in track 2 and ends @ 1:10 of track 3.

buquebus came out fine.  there\'s a short period where the sound goes out in rust, but thats because of a certain sound engineer\'s error.

all i have to say is promo!!!!!! look at the last Toad\'s show and you\'ll see what happens when a good group of people pull together and hand out promo materials (that being said where are my Toad\'s coupons). I\'m not saying every show will be like that but come on, how are people going to know the band is gonna be in town if no one tells them ( i have a local paper that has all the show happenings but i honestly check it once a month maybe). i do everything i can to get people into shows and if i saw half as much effort as some people put out there wouldn\'t be any reason why there can\'t be 100+ people at every show. shit give people a couple dollar break if they bring in a flyer, I\'ve handed out flyers and told people if they see me at the next show and come say hi and i\'ll buy them a beer. and in Spacey\'s defense who do you think pays for the flyers some of you received...... Spacey..... i haven\'t seen any effort from management to get a couple hundred flyers in peoples hands that are in the areas of shows. to not get those Omaha guys promo materials is absolutely ridiculous, they\'re begging for that shit.
