I can tell you that I have purchased a few of the UM live discs, and they sound pretty damn good. That being said, I agree with you Andy, most of the matrix recordings put out by this group are stellar.

Well being a TaperGeek that has really been MIA for the past few months I am very much looking forward to getting back out there. I wasn\'t even aware that the band was doing "Official" matrix\'s of the shows. I would probably check them out because I know who is taping them and the rig is very much similar to mine (pretty close anyway).

Dave I wouldn\'t sweat this, unfortunately the Internet has caused this problem of instant gratification and people no longer have the patience to wait for a show.

It is unfortunate that there aren\'t more tapers following this band (I guess thats a +/- depending on your outlook). I am not sure if you are a member over at taperssection.com but perhaps that is a great place to start. i was recently encouraging folks to go to breakfast shows and give them a try.

People don\'t seem to understand what is involved with taping. As Dave clearly described there is the simple things of getting to the shows early, lugging your EQ (bigger issue for some) setting up, playing defense, staying until the show is completely over, breaking down, getting home, listening in real time to the recording to see if what you pulled even sounds good, then going back over it to do all the tracks, dither and etc depending on what your doing. All of this takes lots of time, coupled with that most Tapers have jobs/lives and priorities.

I will be doing my best to make it to more shows in the near future so hopefully the workload will get spread around a bit more. I miss the band and havent seen them for a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time.

first of all,im not trying to provoke anything.it just seems that i happen to be the one that everybody always asks"dude,whats up with the X show?"or"dude,when is Y gonna be up for download"?...all i do is ask...i ask my friends,who happen to be the tapers..in this day of breakfast,we need to hit peopel with the new shows,as soon as they happen...i dont care what anyone thinks of me,its not a popularity contest around here.my love is for the band..more of breakfast than for tp,at,jg,and rs,i love breakfast...i want them to do well,and if someone wants to say something to me,im not,at all,hard to find...

I guess the question that needs to be asked is that will the
12-04-04 show ever see archive and/or Radio Joe?

I can wait as long as need be. I am still waiting to get my lazy ass to download the Phish shows from SPAC, Great Woods, and Camden from this summer.

PS it sucks the the 12-10-04 The Call show, where me and Mandler almost got sandwiched by 3 hook and ladder firetrucks, will never see the light of day. Great show. Great night. Indeed......

after going over this thread once again,for some reason,i realize now that maybe ,once again,i was wrong...i do really appreciate everyting that everybody does to help..i appreciate all the work that peck,fitz,matty,pauldobz and everyone puts into it.i really do..i may seem like a stuckup spolied little baby,but i cant control that..everyones doing their part it seems...my only questions were,i see all these cats scrambling around taping this and that,but i never see any product.is that wrong for me to wonder?if it is,maybe im fucking nuts...i just think some people need to hear how much there needed and appreciated alot more than others...i dont name names though,and stick folks out,which is becoming the popular thing to do around here i guess...

i know dave has a lot of stuff to do, but we still need have breakfast shows seeded on bt.etree.org at all times. I have been seeding tim shows regularly and each one has been more popular than the last. the 1/12/05 richters show had 80 completed downloads and 3 are still in progress. thats more downloads than 90% of the breakfast shows that have been seeded there. the first couple shows i seeded for tim were nearly impossible to even get people on. if we always have 10 breakfast shows seeded, whether they are recent shows or classic shows, it should be a big help for the band. We just need to get a few people to help seed these shows.

i\'m gonna be frank, i found out about the breakfast through my buddy alex, but i really got into the breakfast through the hard work these tapers have put into making this music readily available to me. so i have nothing but gratitude. that knitting factory show was my first breakfast show, and yeah it took a while to get up on the LMA, but i almost prefer it like that. i downloaded it, and its like a big refresher of how sick that show was. i know how time consuming this stuff is, and i also know how it is to have a career to take up most of my time. it\'s not easy to balance it all, and i give these guys huge kudos for even doing this stuff at all. no one is really in a position to complain. if you want to complain, then start paying for these shows. but since these are free for the taking, be grateful.

wow, never read this thread. i love all tapers. i appreciate everything all you guys do, especially dave and chris and matt. i\'d be in music hell if it wasn\'t for your efforts!!!!!
also, what is the cheapest set of mics a broke guy can purchase. for good quality sound. i try to tape but fail due to zero mics. what else is needed?

I patched into Dave for this show (12-4-04).. I have it but Dave/Band asked me not to let it out. Dave did say in a few months he would put it out so I would ask him.. If I got an ok I would get it out there. Its a matrix recording but sound alot like an aud... I think the Toads show from last week sounds better..... Bean

i was the only taper. there is no audience recording. i ran a matrix with mics up on stage. the board mix has a LOT of clipping, and needs a LOT of work. work that i don\'t have time for right now.

so.. this show is very back-burner right now, because it\'s gonna take a shitload of time to try to get all the clips out of it..
