So the day before my Fillmore Gig I was given a guest list spot by Christopher Sabec for the SEVA Benefit that TLG was playing. Well it included the VIP After Party and I got the chance of a lifetime.
Late in the night after we had cut Wavy\'s BDay Cake. I saw Wavy laying down and decided to go say Hi. So I did and ended up chattin\' w/ him for about 45 minutes. IT WAS AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE to talk with him.
We talked about the day he decided to dedicate his life to helping people. He was w/ Ken Kesey and Neil Cassidy on Acid. We talked about an adventure Jerry and him had and that was wild to hear. Everytime I felt I should bail and leave him be he would feel it or something because he would say " Oh and before you have to go there was.. " and another story. It was just wild!!! I will cherish that conversation for as long as I live. He is an amazing man and it was really killer to be able to let him know how much I have always appreciated all he has done for our Community. Man it was cool.
Any way I just got some pics sent to me by my friend Beth so here they are.

It really was Holly. One of the friendliest folk I have ever met and though he speaks in joking riddlespeak and may seem like an acid casualty at times for a man his age his memory is clear and his mind is still quick as a whip. Oh and he is hilarious!
That is pretty
**** cool......Spacey and I went to see the BigD103 (local oldies station) HippieFest last year. Though there wasn\'t one heady band performing, Wavy Gravey was the MC for the night.....However, he appeared to be so
**** up that it was impossible to understand his rantings......I can only imagine the storys that guy has to tell......
"speaks in joking riddlespeak"
Thats an understatement.
You should ask bigmamablueberry about her Wavy Gravy experiences. She has been tasked with driving him around etc at many GOTV festivals.
I always get a kick out of her stories.
great pics and the guy is a legend congrats on the photo op / chat
That\'s awesome Leith. Chance in a lifetime.
And to think, I thought this thread was gonna be about the ice cream that I can\'t find anymore.
super cool, leith-o.
Hearing him rant at said Hippie Fest was enough for me. Glad you took advantage of the opportunity.
Did he say.
"You have some Gravy in your ear, Perhaps a Q-tip ?"

Leith a VIP? Didn\'t think it was possible. Certainly sounds like the chance of a lifetime. :wedgie:
