a new Frank Pepe\'s pizza has opened in Fairfield. Looks like little ol\' Wooster st could only contain them for so long, but will obvioulsy not be as good as the original. Hope it doesnt get too outta hand. Not as important as oil drilling in Alaska, but thought i\'d mention it.

i\'m up for taking a trip down there to check it out. they ran a special on news channel 8 last week about it, and were saying that everything is just like the original.
I saw the news last week....everything is the same except that the oven in fairfield will take at least 80 years before it can start pumping out the same za as its new haven counterpart.....not to mention that all the materials and chemicals in cement and bricks and whatnot must be much different than 8 decades ago......but good for the pepe family....go fleece those ffld county rich folk for all they got.......
I read in the Advocate that they had basically recreated the oven in attempt to make the pie as close as the original Pepe\'s. The Pizza Master said he was close but still had a few things to iron out.

I completely agree. last time i went to pepes the crust was so burnt and chewy that it ripped my mouth apart worse than cap\'n crunch.
sally\'s is where it\'s at.
Modern has some damn good za too! had it for lunch on tuesday
^^ so i\'ve heard. never been there though. bar aint to shabby either.
bar\'s mashed potato pizza is my personal favorite in new haven, i usually take down half a large myself along with a slice or three of whatever else the table has ordered
i\'ll take bar over modern, pepe\'s, and sally\'s. yep, you heard right. give me bar pie with great service over sally\'s pie with a 2 hour wait ANY DAY!!
