I brewed up a batch of
Holiday Ale yesterday. Everything went well with the cooking and it looks like fermentation has started right on time. Sadly it won\'t be done in time for the holidays. It will definitely be ready for Valentine\'s Day.

No, I have been brewing since my roommate introduced me to it back in college. I don\'t get to do it as often as I would like though.
do the same kind every time or do you switch it up depending on how you feel?
ah we used to do that when we were young and had free time. the whole cooking process and then the bottling is a great bonding experience!
I\'ll never forget the holiday brew we made affectionately nicknamed "yager-brew". Recipe said to grate 1/4 c. ginger and then strain it out prior to fermentation. I chopped about 4 cups of fresh ginger and LEFT it in there! packed one helluva punch!

I switch it up depending on what the season is and what my wife is bugging me for. She wants me to do a maple ale next (even brought me back maple syrup from her trip to VT).
I love having the house smell like malt and hops!
I mostly use swing-top bottles so bottling takes a lot less time than it used to. Cooking and clean-up was done in 4 hours and that was with no help.
