I feel bad for him. He made a mistake. It happens. Standup is an extremely high pressure job where you are very exposed, and he was also probably a bit in character... and being heckled/dealing with disruptive people could make just about anyone blow a fuse. People say stupid things that they don\'t mean all of the time. Doesn\'t mean he is racist. Means he said something racist, which he clearly regrets.

I saw his apology on David Letterman, and he seemed sincerely miserable about what happened. Like I said, I feel badly for the guy.

That is hysterical.
After watching the footage I think the whole thing has been blown out of proportion. It is obvious that he is angry but he is also playing it up for the audience. The Letterman apology was painful to watch. He should have consulted with a publicist before he said anything publicly. That was about as dumb as going to Canada to play a concert without a work visa. :duck:

Trying to extort hundreds of thousands of dollars in "damages" is an infinitely greater offense than blurting comments to the crowd.
