I just bought a  kegerator & I\'m ready to drink!!! :chug:

The problem is, I need to fill the Co2 tank that came with it... I\'ve searched/asked around but can\'t find a place to fill it.  Does anyone know a place in CT that fills Co2 tanks?

I also noticed locations for "Praxair Co2" in New Hampshire & Maine - I\'ll try to get it filled during this weekend\'s Stone Church show :D

You might want to try welding supply houses. They are a good source for bottled gases.

My friend also suggested paintball suppliers / stores.

the gas used is the same so they should also be able to do it

Nice purchase Robyn!  A couple of suggestions:

Search for companies that clean beer lines in CT, as they often distribute gas.  (You\'ll also want cleaning supplies from them.  You should clean the line and faucet after every barrel or once a month.)    Try calling G+G Beverage of Wallingford as well.  They don\'t distribute gas but they\'ll know everyone who does.  Ask any bar you go to who they get their gas from.  You could also try calling Foxon Park Soda Co. as they likely distribute gas with their soda draft systems.  You want mixed gas (beer gas) which is usually 75% CO2 and 25% N2.  If you end up getting gas from paintball or soda suppliers you will get 100% CO2, which isn\'t bad, just not as good.  Do not run 100% N2, as this will overcarbonate everything and create pints of foam.

Also, for your kegerator, don\'t underestimate the power of 1/6 barrels, also known as "logs".  3 great things about logs:

1.  Your kegerator can fit a 1/2 barrel AND a log.  For about 50 bucks you can get a second sankey w/ hose and a 2-faucet tower so you can pour two beers at once.
2.  If you really want to go nuts, your kegerator can fit 3 logs and for 100 bucks you can upgrade to a 3-faucet tower and pour all of them.
3.  Unless you live with 5 burly dudes or have people over 4 nights a week, 1/2 barrels take a long time to go through.  You\'ll notice the quality starting to taper off somewhere in week 3.  Logs contain about 40 pints, which you can get through efficiently and always have fresh.  Beers you can definitely get in logs (just ask your local packie to bring it in for you): Sam Adams, Sam Seasonals, Harpoon IPA, Bud, Bud Light, Long Trail Ale.  There\'s probably a bunch more too.  Happy drinking!
