Is there any way to make your iPod not totally re-sync everytime you want to add music to it?  I loaded a ton of music on it, but if I take them off my hard drive / iTunes and try to go add a few songs to the iPod, it will erase everything but the new songs I\'m trying to upload... ???

There\'s a setting in itunes that you can uncheck so it doesn\'t sync on re-connect. I haven\'t re-installed itunes since my rebuild yet or I\'d find it for you. It\'s somewhere in the preferences or settings. "Just gotta poke around"

1. Connect your iPod to your computer.
2. When the iPod icon appears in the iTunes window (below Devices), select it.
3. If the Summary pane isn\'t showing, click the Summary tab. (This might appear as a "Settings" tab)
4. Make sure that "Manually manage music" is selected. (If you have an iPod that displays video, the checkbox says "Manually manage music and video.")

This will not work if you have an ipod shuffle. Whatever you want on a shuffle must remain in the music library of the computer that shuffle is set up to sync with.

Me too.

I have one, but I kind of hate them.

Not as much as I hate their accessories however.
