The weather channel was showing pictures today and it looked pretty bad. I think that were supposted to get rain up here(CT) on wednesday. But that can change at any time, i mean come on it\'s the weather.
It\'s now down to a category 1 which is supposed to be good, i guess, but it still looks like hell...
I believe there is another storm directly behind it that is a tropical depression. Either way, New Orleans will probably be in the high millions for damages, let alone insurance costs.
My old man just got finished fighting the insurance company from a hurrican that did damage to our house last year.
We were building our addition on our house, just as we finished framing it out, this damn hurricane, which by the time it reached CT was a tropical depression, but still dumped loads of rain, made our house a land yaht....
this happend right after the dining room/kitchen (which is below the addition) just had fresh sheet rock layed in both rooms..

80% of New Orleans is covered in water. Levee was breached.
Really fuct video here:

I\'m just upset that were getting hit with all the rain and humidity from this thing. I do feel for all the people down there. I mean, imagine you leave your house on an evacuation and when its all over you have nowhere to go because your house is under water. Does this water have anywhere to go? I think i would shaat my pants if this was to happen to me.........

yeah well once i donated I got to thinking since there was a thread here why not put some links. Links make it ez for people to donate ya know?
this is quite possibly one of the worst natural disasters to occur in the us...
**** is getting scary!!! i feel so bad for those peopel and seriously cannot get away from the tv (like 911 all over again). one of the saddest things i have seen so far are the sealions from the new orleans aquarium that got washed all over the place-i think there are somewhere around 20 of them missing

also, there is a tornado watch/severe weather warning for my side of town through the evening..eek
thanks for the links leith.....gonna make my donation, remember even the smallest donations make a difference
and to think that if this storm which covered like 3 states hit a mere 50 miles to the west of where it did, we would have probably lost, completely, one of the most amazing cities in this country\'s history.

After being under water for the next month, it may be lost anyway
