Flooding in Mid-Atlantic
« on: »
If anyone has been paying attention to the weather reports in the last couple of days you know what I\'m talking about. It\'s pretty **** up and I just found out that the basement in my parents\' house in VA flooded. Even though the house is on a hill, the pool behind it overflowed/water came down the basement stairs and flooded the entire basement. It really **** sucks for me because my bedroom (in the basement) with all of my **** now has 4 inches of water on the floor. I keep on hearing about roads less than a mile from my house being washed out/bridges getting **** up. I\'m pissed that I\'m not down there for this and hate to admit that I sort of enjoy natural disasters and would like to be able to drive around down there right now . Hope all the .infoers down from VA, DC, MD, PA, DE and western NY are alright (esp. jking and daffodil jill who live 5 mins from me!!)

wow... :(
While there was no flooding here in CT, I did leave my windows open during last night\'s downpour - there\'s now a lake in my car!

no, camp barefoot will be pristine and gorgeous, i\'ve got people working on it...

and thanks, holly, we\'re fine and have had no problems with the rain, other than both of us having to drive through it sunday night. but they closed down the beltway from 10pm to 6am the other day, a couple folks i work with weren\'t able to get out of their neighborhoods and our little storm water runoff creek overflowed its banks. but in some areas, roads were closed from sunday til today and lots of places have had the roads washed away.
