sorry for those of you that thought i was going to go on about a city in Spain.
Last night, my friends and I went to check out that new restaurant in downtown new haven. They have a chain of others in fairfield county. I had always heard GREAT things about the food. So last night was THEE biggest disappointment I have ever had in a culinary experience. Besides being overpriced, I had a 2inch by 2inch salmon that cost $20, the service was sub par. I expect prices to be high while dining downtown, but I also expect the service to be on the ball and the portions to be slightly larger. The ambiance was great. The interior was amazing. Music selection was questionable. At one point, we heard "Low Rider" being played and we thought the White Sangria the girls and I were drinking had gone to our heads.
Yes, that was the ONE excellent thing about this place. The wine selection is phenomenal. I never had white sangria before. It was quite splendid with the little slices of pears and other fruity fruits. Along with some other choice wines, I left stumbling around without my shoes on, however quite hungry....
So that\'s my tip to anyone that is curious about the new place. Definitely eat somewhere else first and go there for just drinks......order the white sangria...
Right on, I didn\'t know you were a hard-core all-season barefooter!
Chain restaurant. Figures.
Barcelona isn\'t really a chain as much as a tapas restaurant that started in Norwalk. Then the owner opened one in Fairfield (right off the merrit parkway in the old HiHo Tap Room), and one in New Haven.............Not like Bennigans or Chili\'s.......I havent been to the one in new haven but have eaten and hung out at the norwalk and fairfield ones.....good food and times from what i remember........
