Thanks for the heads up....
My friend\'s jack russell just died last week from kidney failure from eating one of the contaminated brands.
Thanks for keeping up on this lisa. As long as iams dry food is good we\'re good to go over here.
Thanks Lis... those are the cat treats I give George.
:chin: I wonder if this toxicity will also become apparent in human food. I know that we had a kid last yr. who was allergic to wheat gluten, and couldn\'t have any lollipops, because wheat gluten is a part of the ingredients - while no one i know eats dog/cat food, if the wheat gluten is the reason for animals getting sick, there may be a possibility for people to become ill too, no?

I havent been folowing this story since my moms dog and my dads dog dont eat any of the tainted petfoods or snacks.
I am pretty sure that wheat gluten allerigies are fairly commonplace. I think the problem with the pet food is that the wheat gluten was tainted as opposed to it just being an ingredient in the food....
^^^ it would be like turning down free money......
Oh, and keeping with the topic at hand, I can\'t keep up with all of these recalls! It\'s really stressing me out... I am not even sure anymore if my catfood/cat treats and dog food/dog treats are ok or not anymore.
We\'ve been using Innova EVO for years, and it\'s great! It\'s completely organic, and doesn\'t even
include wheat gluten or other processed crap. Ok, so it\'s a little more expensive, but it\'s def been nice not having to deal w/ all the recent recalls!:thumbsup:
Thanks for the heads up... but honestly.... Science Diet large breed for the dog and Nutro for the cat (both only eat dry food) is about the best I can afford for now.
