where is the LOCK on this thread?? disheartening straight through. absolutely weak sauce by just..... not playing. as said though its over and done, hopefully this is just a footnote in a Breakfast Companion down the road. when\'s the last time they bailed on a show?? ever?? st. louis experienced an unfortunate event. but hey id have to assume there was something more involved than it just being a dive.. i hope! anyways, in the grand scheme of things this means very little, in Breakfast Land it means
everything at the moment.
all in all i do think they made a mistake, no doubt. but they\'re just people at the same time. not gonna say ive never called in sick or ran away for a night, who knows what the hell was going on. move on, they arent Siddartha or Moses and took off for a day to let some great corner of humanity fall apart. so bashers, i hope you give em a chance, not sure if i would but id be pretty upset if i finally did in 10 years and missed a decade of sick sick music. ive had a bitter taste in my mouth since i saw the "reasoning" behind cancellation, but once again is this the first time something like this has happened in this fashion? i have a feeling it is.

George, I am sorry you had to read all 16 pages of that, really I am. But on a side note, you honestly only needed to read 3-4 to get it all, everything has been repeated enough times throughout.

Sorry to be so late in commenting on this, but I wanted to be absolutely sure of what I wanted to say, and have as much information as possible.
So, let me start here. I\'ve been a professional in this business for almost 40 years, and I played more shows in the 70\'s and 80\'s than many play in an entire career. I didn\'t take the stage once....and I was in the hospital for that. So it should be clear that my preference would have been for the band to do a light acoustic kind of thing and make it work.
But, they are in the thick of it, so I have to assume it was pretty grim when they got there. They don\'t tend to be reactive, so they didn\'t feel they could put on the show that peeps expect, and that they expect from themselves. Alex talked to the promoter...who was frankly not all that freaked, and who admitted that this was NOT the first time this had happened. At any rate, the date was given to the promoter based on it being at The Venice, but by the time he moved it we had little choice but to accept it. We could have cancelled, and in retrospect maybe that should have been done, but who knew.
I can\'t reveal inside business stuff like what the gig paid, but it was the weakest show on the tour anyway....the one I had to wonder about. But, when you are lining up a tour you want to leave as few dead spots as possible, so the date was left.
So, I officially apologize to the fans that went, and the fans in general. But this wasn\'t done to dis the fans; if anything the band did not want to put on a substandard show FOR the fans.
Hang in, this is going to be sn excellent tour.

thanks vic, i know you\'re not thrilled about this, but i commend you for your positive attitude.
what would be really weak sauce is if the band did not play a show in St. Louis on the way back east. The 1st through fifth of april is a slow couple of days in the lou, so hopefully we can get some breakfast.
