SCC is a BIG reason I decided to make the trek out. I have gone back and forth the past 2 weeks on going and not going. Other than Stevie\'s Bday the other instigation is SCC. I have been wanting to see them for a long time and have pimped them as much as The Breakfast to my friends over the past year. Def. not on the level of The Bfast in terms of technical chops but I LOVE the grooves they create and they sing pretty damn well. Very Very fun band on disc,I am sure they will be a treat in person.

Never heard them myself. However, I had the feeling SCC meant ScareCrow Collection.  Haven\'t they opened for the b\'fast once before?

I believe they have. It will be a fun time. Get there early. Which leads me to the question of how green is the UAC or its lot ?

The lots are fine as long as no state troopers see you.  Just stay away from the highway and you should be all set.  And try not to let the people in the bar downstairs see anything they shouldn\'t, which means don\'t smoke anything other than cigs when you\'re near the stairs.  Basically, just use your best judgement because we had an incident the first time and I had to pull strings to get us back there.

Still trying to figure out the logistics of getting to this show. I have to be back in the city on Sunday for an audition, but I will be there no matter what! Anyone have any suggestions getting to and from Fairfield to NYC?
Thanks

You can take a MetroNorth train out of Grand Central in NYC and it will bring you to the Southport train station which is less than a mile from the hall.  From there it\'s not a bad walk as long as you\'re dressed warm enough.  Or else you can try to find someone to pick you up.

I would not be worried about purchasing Tixs in advance.

I\'d at least let Terry know, so he can get a good head count though.

Actually, it would help a LOT if you guys all paid ahead of time.  As some of you know, I\'ve had a hard time planning for these gigs in the past.  The stupid CT liquor laws make it so I have to judge at 8PM how many people will be at the show that night.

For the first party I threw last December, I did a good job at guessing how many people would show up and everything worked out alright.  Therefore I almost broke even which was fine by me considering it was an experimental gig.

But when I was planning the party I threw in April, it seemed like I was getting feedback that more people were going to show up than the first time so I overestimated and bought more booze than we needed just to be on the safe side.  And then all the people who claimed they were bringing tons of friends never did and I ended up losing out on the deal.

This time I won\'t be overestimating because I just can\'t afford to lose out again.   Which means that if there aren\'t very many tickets sold ahead of time then I won\'t have money to buy enough kegs and I know that none of us want that to happen.

Basically, the future of UAC shows is in all of your hands.  If I lose money on this gig then it will be the last one I have there.  So please spread the word the best you can and try to get that room filled next weekend.

So far I\'ve only received one check for $40.  That\'s all the advanced ticket sales I\'ve seen which isn\'t very promising.  That barely covers the soda expense, not to mention paying the band, the hall and the kegs and liquor.

If you are planning on definitely going next weekend it really makes no sense not to pay ahead of time.   It will cost you $5 less now than it will at the door.   Plus it will be $20 more that I will have to buy you drinks for the night.

If you would like to pay the $20 in advance either PayPal me at terryob@optonline.net or send a check no later than Monday to:

Terry O\'Brien
40 Exchange Place
Fairfield, CT 06825

Thanks!

I\'m really looking forward to next weekend.  The band has delivered both times so far at UAC and and the crowd always rocks.  Can\'t wait to see you all again!

Cheers...

Terry, Thanks! I\'ll be there for sure and I\'ll paypal you by Wed if that\'s ok. That way if I have more people coming I can include them too.

Oh thanks for the Metro North info too, I actually found that. Only problem is that I\'ve got to be back in the city early on Sunday and the first train isn\'t till 5am-ish. So is there an after party or can someone offer me a couch to crash on...? :)

Tickets paid.  Bringing my two newb roomies. (they\'re coming for the open bar, but I still think that they\'ll enjoy it).

How safe is it to leave my car at UC overnight?  We\'re gonna catch a cab back to Fairfield U.
Go see your Breakfast, there are starving Leiths in California

Sorry to break the news to you, but SCC kind of backed out on the gig.  Their bassist can\'t make it for some reason, so they are going to perform without him.

I\'ve seen their side-project band called Gives Us The Money Lebowski and they jam some great tunes.  That\'s who will be opening now instead of SCC.  I\'m sure some of you will love it.  I have seen them twice and had a blast both times.

Thanks, dude.  I just saw your payment.

I got permission for cars to remain there overnight.  Just don\'t park close to the building if you plan on leaving your vehicle.  Park it in the back and they won\'t bother you unless it\'s there for more than a few days.
