I have reluctantly chose the Belmont to witness history and to make a few dollars by investing in a few Program Guides to sell on eBay after Smarty wins by 20+ lengths. . . Also influential on my decision, I can get extremely drunk if I want to and not have to worry about driving anywhere\'s. . .
belmont it is... would love to go to the \'boozle, but the belmont\'s gonna be fantastic..

Bah, witness history my ass... There\'s no more history to be made in horseracing. Anyhow thoroughbred racing is a terrible industry and it\'s all a scam these days... Definitely no longer the sport it once was.
Ouch. A stupid horeserace over PB. I really hate horseracing, it\'s the lamest activity in the world. Ever go into one of those off-track betting places, or the casino racebook? I walk past these OTBs places every day in Manhattan, and it is the most pathetic collection of 50-70 year old lifelong drunkard males in the entire world. If I ever start to resemble those people at all, someone shoot me.
And by the way, all of these races are FIXED. It\'s a complete scam from box to wire. Horse racing is all but dead (thank god) and they feel like a horse winning the triple crown will magically make racing fans out of people. (I say so
**** what.) So it\'s fixed for Smarty Jones to win. Let\'s see, he runs a Preakness time that wouldn\'t have won in any of the last six years, and he sets the alltime record for margin of victory? So a slow horse is faster than a bunch of really slow horses (who aren\'t trying)...I\'m supposed to get excited over this? And now they just scratched 2 good horses out of the Belmont. Smarty Jones wins the Belmont by beating 4 slow horses. Whoopee! I\'m gonna start watching horse racing with the degenerates at the off-track betting parlor! You know what the Triple Crown is? It\'s having the most home runs and RBIs and having the highest batting average in a league in the same season. Horse racing is complete bupkus, I can\'t think of anything stupider to get excited over. See you at the show.
I\'m not saying there\'s nothing better than a PB show, especially after umpteen million shows. If something\'s going to be a better experience for you, then that\'s what you have to do. I\'m sure I\'ve not gone to PB shows for things that other people find stupid, and there are lots of people who think skipping anything for a PB show is stupid! That post is strictly about horeseracing and why I can\'t get into it. Dave, Tony, and anyone else going, enjoy A Day At The Races.

Unfortunately too many times :sigh: There is one in Staven right off the highway that I have placed my Derby bets int he last few years, and then there is Sports Haven which is a degenerates dream/nightmare.

Thanks for clearing that up

Joc, who made you an expert at horses

heh, just kidding. And to clear myself, even if horse racing is fixed I\'d still like to be there because 1) I have never been to a horse race before, nevermind a triplecrown race/venue 2) it\'ll save me money by going ( I dont plan on betting much at all during the day) rather than driving to Jersey or going out in New Haven tomorrow night (Im usually good for a $100+ night every Saturday) 3) Ya know how many cougars there are at these things with old old husbands
ugh.
idiot #1 (me) and idiot #2 (mike) decided to blow it out last night. just woke up. missed the belmont bus.

no soup for us. no we have no choice but to go to bamboozle. time to look up what time pb is playing and head on down. not that that\'s a bad thing, but ugh. just ugh.

Drunkenness and grilling can be a hazard make sure you have an assistant(willing rugrat) that can run for your beers while u tend the grill.
from what i understand, breakfast played a smokin ser set in fromt of about 2000 maniacs..the place went nuts and jordan got soaked!!!!oh yea, todd(the photographer)didnt take any pics..good havin ya on the team todd.what are you here for again??lol
shitty ass weather + shitty ass mini-tent covering the band (well, 3/4 of the band)= shitty ass pictures
Ron and Tim couldn\'t even see the crowd when they stood up to sing in the mics. They were singing to the front row, floor of the stage and the tent three inches in front of their faces.
Anyways, it was a proud moment when the head of the event came running up from back stage wanting ten more minutes. Then almost gave them 5 more
Seth is right- (to a certain degree) horse racing is fixed, and it has been for, well, decades...
Not to mention, it\'s an incredibly abusive sport which I refuse to support. Having bought 2 horses off the racetrack, I know first hand what it does to the horses. They start racing them at 2; a horse isn\'t mature (physically or mentally) until about 4. They drug them, beat them, and terrify them. Every horse I have ever known to come off the track is neurotic and very frightened. Any sport where an animal can make so much money is of course going to be cruel- these horses are not friends, partners, or even pets. They are machines bred to make money, so their welfare is obviously not a main concern. At breeding/training facilities they pump out often 100 foals a year, to get MAYBE one successful track horse, and what do you think becomes of the others? They go by the saying "make \'em or break \'em. Lovely. The cruelty of greyhound racing is well-known, but it blows my mind how the public is entirely unaware of the atrocities that go on behind the scenes of thoroughbred racing. No offense guys, but you really should do some research before you go and support horse racing.....
Glad to hear that the head of the event wanted the guys to play more that\'s Rad!! Did the guys have a good time though even w/ the rain and limited visiblity? Hope so.
Hey Thread Jackers if Horse Racing\'s Fixed What the
**** Happened? So much for that theory.
As for supporting Horse Racing I live within 10 miles of one of the most beautiful racetracks in the World and I would not count a summer complete w/o one trip to Del Mar. Sorry Joc but the track is a blast.
